Chapter 22 ~ Are You Serious?

It's been about one month since the Merluca honeymoon and Meredith is sitting on the bathroom floor. She has spare tests because of her sisters when they lived there. 3am and she felt sick to her stomach, so she ran to the bathroom to throw up. 5 minutes pass, she looks down, and the test reads positive. Mer couldn't be happier! She was having another baby! Her and Andrew talked about it, but she didn't think it was really going to happen, but there it is, the words "Pregnant" screaming at her with excitement. Now she just had to find a way to tell Andrew. She wants to be creative with it too. She showed Derek the t-shirt that said "Best Big Sister" on it when she found out she was pregnant with Bailey. How was she going to tell Andrew?
Mer and Andrew get to the hospital and they walk to the attendings lounge together. "You go ahead, I'll be in in a minute." she says. "Okay babe. See you in there." Andrew replies. She spots Alex and waves him to the hallway through the window. "Hey Mer, what's up?" he asks. "Alex, I have something very important and very exciting to tell you." Mer is kind of nervous to tell Alex and she doesn't know why. How is he going to react? "What is it? You can tell me anything Mer. You know that." "Alex... I'm pregnant! You are the first to know so I need you to give me an ultrasound check before I tell anyone else too." Alex pulls Mer into a hug. "Oh my god Mer! I'm so happy for you! And of course I'll do the ultrasound for you. When are you planning on telling Andrew?" She hesitates. Mer still hasn't figured out a way to tell him. She was so focused on telling Alex that she forgot the creative way she's going to tell Andrew. "I don't know, but I'll figure it out soon."
Mer lies down on the table in the exam room when Alex walks in. She has the blinds closed beforehand so she didn't have to deal with Andrew walking past and accidentally seeing her. "Everything looks completely normal. I'll take the ultrasound picture and print it for you. Maybe that can be apart of your special way to tell Andrew." "Thank you so much Alex. I couldn't ask for a better Person. I love you Alex." she chuckles. "I love you too Mer. Congrats again." Alex says, walking out of the room. Mer gets dressed and when she walks out of the room, she sees Andrew and they lock eyes. She feels terrified because she hasn't told him yet. "Are you okay? What were you in an exam room for Mer?" he asks his wife. Mer freezes up and couldn't speak. "Should I tell him now?" she thought, then she says out loud, "Andrew, I- um..."
