After the phone call from my
Father earlier I felt more agitated than usual I grabbed my gym bag and knew the only way I was going to take out my frustration was exhausting myself at the gym I hounded the running machine feeling my legs tingle I kept pushing and pushing next was the weights I lifted and lifted I would usually be shook by now my arms were begging for a break but I kept pushing I done 50 pull ups and
A hundred sit up my full face was sheer gleam of sweat and my favourite part was the punch bag I pounded and pounded at it letting all my rage consume me it felt good , it was something i could never control was my anger but here I could let loose do some damage without physically hurting anyone , each punch I remembered my father words the way he had missed all of kades birthdays the way he had treated my mother , the many times I saw her lying sobbing on the bathroom floor with the rage keeping me going I let Rip , my arms were now feeling limp sweat soaked through my T-shirt but I still kept going
"Either its a woman Troubles or that bag is someone's face "George laughed he was one of the older people at the gym he complains all the time that
Penny his wife was making him lead a healthier life style he was in his late Fifty's he was over weight and he had had a heart attack earlier this year he was a
Good guy and he always has some good life lessons I didn't feel much like talking hitting the bag again he laughed
"your either gonna hurt yourself or break the bag penny for you thoughts?" He smirked
Taking the gloves off and sitting down I felt the adrenaline pumping through my body it wasn't just my father ally had me all worked up in ways I couldn't understand she was just different something about her I wanted to wrap her up and protect and I didn't know why she never seemed to be in trouble always smiling always laughing something drew me to her
" by the Look on your face son I'd say it swas woman troubles ah been there " laughing
" know you can listen or not but here somethin I'm gonna tell yall anyways " his southern accent drawled it reminded even more of Allison her southern Drawl had me hooked A hard punch to my knee stopped my ally day daydreaming it was George's
And it actually hurt
" hey what was that for !" I said rubbing my leg
" that was for not paying attention now Anyways way I see it yall troubles is about a woman and I can see that by the look in your eyes I was just like you, penny my wife she a darn pain in the ass but that woman is my saving grace first time I met her I knew there and then but I couldn't have her see
Back in the day I had what one would say a temper never did me no good like you  was penny my angel in heaven she was something I ain't ever seen sassy and she put me in my place better than no man could she's only tiny too but  hell breaks loose when she starts "'he laughed
" she called me out on my bullShit told me her presence seemed to calm me see she had had grace and manners and when I grew up with seven brothers and all we know was fist throwing , we used our fists instead of our brains , but with penny the anger faded , her momma and daddy didn't like me much seeing as I was beneath them but my penny she never saw that   We got married and I couldn't give her what she wanted as much as
It pained me, she never complained  I was broke  as hell but few years went by I made something of myself got back on my feet but I couldn't of done it without her always hammering my ass to keep going and when I wanted to get piss ass drunk and through caution to the wind , she was there through the it all couldn't survive a day without that woman so what I'm trying to say here boy is that, that type of love that's the one you keep fighting for me and my gal well were married forty years this summer got married at only sixteen years old but I loved her like no other and I had that
same look you have right now when I met penny ,"
"He clamped a hand hard down on my shoulder snd smiled
"When it's real son there ain't no fighting you can do about or how many time you punch that bag over there your problems aren't gonna go away you here me?" He asked
I simply nodded
" now go on get yourself a shower and head on home you'll be thanking me tomorow your body gonna hurt like hell" he laughed
" ah to be young again , right i better
Go ahead do one of them darn machines in there , now an ice cold beer would be nice but this woman don't realise it's that darn running machine just gone give me another heart attack "' he muttered to himself walking Away
For the first time a smile tugged at my mouth George always had the way of calling me out but helping me too he had been more fatherly to me that
What my own father had ever been
