I didn't know what I was was so nervous about Courtney's reminder to keep mason at baye and watch my feeling was still burning in the back of
my mind apart from that I was having a nice time Emily and Sam we're here too I felt more at ease knowing that apart from josh and Courtney I Knew some other people I recognised everyone from school but a lot of them were older and in masons class mason was laughing with Cole and Kade whilst Courtney Emily and I were sat by the fire  Courtney handed me a red cup and winked I didn't even ask it smelled fruity and honestly watching mason and knowing that I couldn't give into my temptations only made me want him more i wasn't
The only one feeling it , kade hadn't took his eyes off Courtney and she was trying her best to ignore I was wondering if there more to it , had they had a fight ? There
Was definitely tension between the two of them
" you okay?"
" I'm fine I just wish he would stop staring at me " Courtney sighed
" I don't get it yous seem fine this morning , did I miss something ?
"It's dumb like I said I knew it was a fling some girl kept blowing up his phone the full night ,we had a fight then made up the had another fight " Courtney took long gulp of her drink
" come on thought you said we were going to have fun, wow the tables have turned it's usually you pulling me out of a pissy mood" I laughed
" your right what am I doing ? Come on I didn't spend on hours on us getting ready for nothing" she stood up smoothing down her white dress

We walked over with Emily and started talking to a group of girls Selena was among them not my idea
Of a goodnight I was ready to use our code word I'd rather sit and eat ice cream and listen to Selena babbled
It wasn't till I finally gave into temptation and looked up at mason he was so beautiful his white T-shirt made his tanned arms even more delicious his black hair was jelled back in its usual way he had a leather jacket on and Jeans he was laughing with the guys kade was talking to some girl she was pawing over him touching his shoulder and lauging flciking her hair and cocking her head to the side laughing at his jokes Courtney was too busy arguing with Selena to notice , I ducked my head down he had caught me red handed his green eyes burned into mine but they weren't the warm or gentle look I was used to he looked annoyed, his green eyes had me captivated my throat instantly went dry , playing with my locket I tried to look away but his eyes bore into
Mine , it was like he was seeing my soul I felt uncomfortable and excited at the same time I didn't know this guy but I felt like I had known him forever
The girll who was draped around kade hyena laugh was getting louder Courtney looked up and her face immdelty fell I could see the hurt there and I was thankful for the warning she gave me , the girl

Ear he was laughing back his hands roaming down her back he stumbled backwards he was drunk ,
Masons eyes shot to mine and then to Courtney's it was like he was putting the pieces together
Great now he thought I was taking sides
I decided right there and then that Courtney and I needed a drink I quickly grabbed her hand she squeezed it tight
" bathroom?" I asked her
" yeah but first let's get drunk " she sighed her eyes filled with tears but she quickly pulled Herself together we got two more drinks out the cooler
"Well if that's how he wants to play it " Courtney's eyes darkened
I looked over to see she was staring at kade the girl was kissing his neck but he kept looking at Courtney waiting for her reaction he wanted her to be notice he wanted her to be annoyed there was more going on between the two but I was gonna start questions her she would tell me in her own time
"Fucker" she downed her beer and reached for another Emily walked over and handed us another two fruity drinks
" what is it ?" I asked
" vodka punch " she smiled
" my my Emily you have surprised me yet again your actually badass" Courtney laughed
" oh it's okay I'll pay for it
On Sunday lord knows my daddy will hear about it and I ain't looking forward to the hours of bible studying I'm gone get so cheers " she smiled
I was beginning to like Emily even more , why she hung around with Selena I had no idea she was genuily nice and by the sounds of it had her own issues with her parents i knew they were ridiculouly strict over her , and for some reason this year she just Must've cracked if someone would have told me I would be drinking alcohol with Emily peters I would have laughed in there face then again I wouldn't have believed that my father would Leave and start a whole new life my chest burned fuck him fuck everything I was so sick of everyone I downed the drink from
Emily and reached into the cooler pulling a bottle of vodka and cans  Lemonade out Courtney squealed with delight I held the bottle up topping up there punch's
" now it's a fucking party" Courtney laughed
The rest of the night passed in the same kind of fashion the more I would let myself think of my father or mother I would down another drink until I stopped thinking about them Courtney and I were dancing on the sand Emily was bobbing her head back and forward and sam was smoking his cigarette laughing videoing us
" don't you dare put that on the internet " Emily hiccuped
" my daddy will literally burst into flames , and especially if it's you , it's a man and woman blah blah i don't get it why can't we all just love who we want to " She hiccuped again
" oh sweetie , if everyone aggreed with it , it would make it less fun to piss them off when I wear my hotpants"
" you don't! Oh my god let me see"
" I do so and here look" he showed Emily his phone
" damn your ass is better shape than mine " she moaned

Sam twirled her around bending her head back
"Girl there ain't nothing wrong with your ass and that face of yours

" yeah thanks Sam" Courtney laughed
"Oh coco baby don't take it the wrong way it's just the good girls are always the most dirty" he laughed
" I am not !" Emily shirked
"Mmhmmm that's what they say then once the get a Taste of it you'll become the fallen angle addicted to it" he winked
" oh lord, I am drunk cause I swear that totally worked on me" Emily's face blushed
Sam laughed he and Emily spoke more about butt excersizes
Whilst Courtney and continued to laugh and holding each other's hands we span around in circles it felt good just to be me and her for a change I was begning to feel dizzy but we kept spinning it wasn't until we both let go and I fell right on the sand laughing nothing really mattered in that
Moment I had no problems I just wanted to spin around all day and not care Courtney sunk down beside me laughing
" dear god what are you two doing now ?" Josh laughed pulling me up
" spinning come on try with me "
" no no last time I done stupid shit with you whilst drunk I dropped you " he laughed
" come on josh it's fun " I grabbed his hands swinging him around he was more stronger than Courtney he lifted me in air twirling me , it was moments like these I felt free I didn't want this feeling to end
Josh gently put me back down Courtney was speaking to Lucas her ex she was laughing pulling him to dance with her as the music kept blaring I glanced over at kade his face pale as he watched Lucas pull Courtney into him she looked straight at him her eyes emotionless
"Okay you could cut the tension with a knife "
" I know what do we do?"
" what can we do those two will figure it out soon enough" josh rolled his eyes holding out his hand

" why not I'm drunk anyways so if I fall it's not on you this time " I laughed leaning my head on his chest he slowly moved to the music the sounds waves crashing , the stars were shining bright in the moonlight sky i sighed contenlty this was the most peace I had felt in a long while the
Song after song changed but josh and I remained the same I looked up at him his flashed his normal dimples and gave me a questioning look
" what?" He smiled
" nothing just im happy that's all" I smiled he pulled me closer kissing the top of my head
It wasn't until the next track came
On my blood turned to ice , the sounds of people's laughter and the crackle of the fire faded into the background its as if they where ghosts with voices , my heart was the only sound I could hear
