Chapter 16: bless the broken road

Riley's POV:

I answered the phone call.

"Riley?",Hunter's mom's voice said.

"Yeah?",I answered.

"It's Hunter",she began to cry.

"What happened?!",I asked worriedly.

"We got into a car accident and...the...the guy who hit us hit the side of the backseat of the car...where Hunter was sitting",she cried.

"What happened to him!!",I cried.

"He got injured. He broke his ribs and an arm. He was also pretty scraped up. He's at the hospital now. They think he'll be ok but they aren't sure yet",his mom continued whimpering.

"I'm coming",I cried quickly before falling to the ground.

Tears streamed my face and I used all my strength to get up and go to that hospital.

My parents rushed to my side as soon as they saw me balling while trying to walk to the door.

After explaining what happened in gasps they told me they'd drive me as fast as they could.

It took us 2 hours till we pulled into the hospital parking lot.

I sprinted as fast as I could to the receptionist's desk.

They told me to wait a minute so they could ask the doctor something.

I continued crying and my mom held me up so I wouldn't fall to the floor.

All I could think is,"is he dead? Is he alright? Hurry please".

The lady at the front desk had me sign in and let me go to his room.

I took a deep breath before opening the door.

I began to cry when I saw him in that bed. He looked exhausted and a bruised.

His mom hugged me when she saw me. Hunter's parents told me that he was sleeping and I should just sit and wait awhile before I bugged him.

My parents and his parents went to get food and left me with him. I persuaded them to let me watch him alone.

His hair was straggly and a mess and his face made him look like he was in discomfort. Well he probably was in discomfort.

I looked back at him when I heard him moan.

"Hunter",my voice cracked.

"Riley",he said quietly.

I walked over and smoothed his hair delicately.

"Thank God you are ok",I began to cry.

"Riley don't cry ok. You don't have to cry love. I'm alright",he said softly.

"I'm just so relieved that you didn't die. Are you feeling ok?",I asked.

He reached his unbroken arm to my face and wiped the tears from my cheeks.

"I'm ok. It hurts kinda bad but I'm alright",Hunter made a small smile appear on his face.

"I love you ok. I love you a lot Hunter",I smiled while sniffling.

"And I love you more than the world",he smiled.

"I was wondering why you never texted me back",I said. "now I know".

He frowned. "My phone got run over so now I'm without an iPhone. Damn I had some awesome Beyoncé pics on there dang it".

The old Hunter is back.

"We'll get you a new phone don't worry".

"I really miss my phone",he sighed.

"What are you gonna do huh? Check your Instagram while the nurse takes your blood pressure?",I teased.

"Exactly",he said.

My dad shook me awake. It was late but I didn't want to leave Hunter.

"Come on we'll get you a hotel room ok. You can see him in the morning",my dad said.

"Alright",I sighed.

I looked over at the boy who was asleep

in his hospital bed.

My parents drove me to the hotel and I got into bed. It didn't feel good to be without him right now.

I felt like I shouldn't have left him but I did. Slowly I fell asleep thinking of Hunter.

I'm sorry guys. Just be glad I didn't kill him. He's alive. He's ok. Don't hate me. I've read some fanfic where the author kills the celeb off at the end and I hate that.
