17|Casual Strangers

The next day I went to the pool alone, since Madison wanted to stay indoors today and relax with the kids. On my way, I passed some stores in the city that I thought Madison and the kids would like. I'd definitely have to bring them here before we leave. At the pool, the first thing I noticed was the large, sectional, Olympic style layout, as I looked further I noticed this guy that was making laps like it was nothing to him.

As he finished, I asked him to teach me to swim, not necessarily like him, but just enough to save myself if I was drowning. He introduced himself as Rishidi, he said that he would teach me, but he wasn't a swim coach but a surgeon who just loves swimming.

He was in town on his honeymoon with his wife Chelsea and he took his kids on a vacation as well. I was a quick learner so I'm sure I won't keep him back for long. He would be in town for a few weeks and occasionally be at the pool, so I would get my chance to learn during those times.

I got my first two lessons which were floating and the breaststroke. It was easier than I thought. It came time for him to go do he alerted me to his departure. I was having fun, so I stayed a bit longer, doing a few laps around the pool again.

I then grew hungry after a while, so I decided to get something to eat and I'd bring back something for Madison, Jason, and Sacha as well. I decided to buy some chicken tortillas for us all. As I entered the line, I noticed Ridishi exiting the line with his chicken tortilla already in his mouth.

"Ridishi!"

"Oh hey man!"

"I see we felt for the same meal."

"Oh yeah, these guys are the best when it comes to tortillas."

"Well, it will b my first time buying here."

"Well, I hope you enjoy it."

"I hope so too! Hey, what are you doing after this?"

"I was going home to drop some food for my family."

"what did you have in mind?"

"I'm not sure, but was thinking pool and a few beers."

"well, I can come back right after. Your wife won't be angry at you?"

"Nah, she's at a family member's home visiting. She'll be back later or tomorrow."

"Well, it's pool and beers for a bit then!"

"Just meet me back here when you're finished."

I arrived at the hotel with food and we all ate some of the tastiest chicken tortillas we've ever tasted. I mentioned to Madison about Ridishi and our plan to hang out. Madison was an understanding individual, so she had no problem with it at all.

Before I left the room, I kissed them all, just in case they would be sleeping when I got back. I arrived at the meeting spot and Ridishi seemed really happy to see me. I got a liming partner overseas and I was also happy. We drank beers while playing pool, then we met up with some other guys that joined our game, so we would be here for a while.

It took us six cases of beers and quite a bit of round of pool before it was time to go. It was fun meeting other cool people here, even though I had now met Ridishi. He told me that they were going to have a spa day tomorrow and he would like to invite my family and I to join them. It sounded like a great idea, so our family can get to know each other.

As we departed, I saw him leave in a taxi, while I had now gotten in one myself. As I arrived home, my head started to spin uncontrollably from all this alcohol in my system. Madison and the kids were already asleep when I got home, so I took a bath before I laid myself down. I cuddled my wife a bit until I fell asleep.
