It had already been November in a blink of an eye. Josiah was now four years of age and a big boy at that. Next year he would be going to preschool and no more daycare drop-offs. Today was his big day, so we invited my mom and dad along with some family for a day of fun in the park.
It was a Sunday, so there wasn't much to do. Ridishi rented a bouncy castle and a pool so we could all have fun, both children and adults. Josiah, Camsea, Sandra, and Kavita were in their happy place and I couldn't be a happier parent.
A slight drizzle this morning had us worried, but it was soon to be discovered as a passing cloud. We were now free to have all the fun we possibly can, without worrying about getting sick. As the rest of the adults barged in, Ridishi turned up the volume on the speakers. The kids all danced and Josiah was the star of the show.
Now that everyone was here, we shared plates of food and drinks. When everyone had finished, we would cut the cake and share ice cream. Things couldn't get better as one of Josiah's baby teeth decided to drop out as well. Now he has a cute little space between his teeth until the tooth decides to grow and fill the space again.
Finally, it was time for dessert. Josiah and I had cut the cake after everyone sang happy birthday to him and he made his wish. As the ice-cream was shared, the kids lined up neatly to receive their milky treats. As they thought it was all over, here came mom and dad with a bag full of party bags and a pinata.
The pinata was hung on the tree and Josiah had the first swing. As he swung for the second time, the pinata cracked open and the children scampered to the floor for the candy. After the commotion, the party bags were distributed and then it was time for some more party games.
We played games for the rest of the evening, sang songs and Ridishi even got a magician he met at the party store, to perform a bit for the kids for no charge. Sometimes that Ridishi really amazes me.

It was finally the afternoon we returned to our supposedly normal lives. We got enough evidence on Langson's operation to put him away for a long time and it was thanks to a partner like Cindy. She really has her ways, but she knew just how to stick it to the man.
The first thing I did, once communication restrictions were lifted, was call Madison. She was so happy to hear from me, but also angry at me for not telling her about my six-month mission, but she understood to a point. She told me to come home quickly, she had something to discuss with me.
My heart pounded, as I knew my adultoring would eventually catch up with me. I hope she doesn't ask any sudden touchy questions for me to lie to her. As I was clear to leave I glimpsed in Cindy's direction and she winked to me. I got into my car and thought about any excuses I could come up with, practicing along the way.
I was jittery, but I held my composure. As I arrived at home, there she was. My darling wife, surrounded by Sarah and Jason while she held my son. As I entered the living room I looked at him, he was the same complexion as his mother but his nose was different from any of us. I thought nothing of it at the moment, but I had my suspicions.
"I want you to pick a name Dylan!" She said to me.
As I thought for a while I had the perfect one.
"Let's call him Zayan. Zayan Trident is perfect for him."
As I held him in my arms and raised him in the air, I thought, "karma is a woman after all."
I handed him to Madison as I went to the bathroom to take a shower. There was no way the deceit and shame could wash off, but I tried anyway. I took a long while in there, beating myself up and letting all my emotions run down my face, along with the icy cold water.
