"Hey bud,  are you coming with us or nah?" Billy was leaning on his car with his mates already in it,  asking Gilbert in the mere distance.

"Sorry dude, pass for now. I got something important to do." Gilbert replied, happy that he had an excuse not to come to one of the boys trip to the club. He doesn't particularly enjoy it but most of the time he was insisted to come with them.

"Sure bud, maybe next time." Billy says as he hops on his car and drives away.

Gilbert rides on his own car. His phone's ringtone goes off. Someone was calling him.

"Hello-Oh yes, I'm coming." He stopped to listen. "Yes, Dad, I know." He stopped again, and rolled his eyes. "Yes, of course, I can do it, Dad." His father usually does this, repeating the same instructions over and over again. Making sure he understands, when he seriously does already.

"Yes, Sebastian and Mary are in good hands, Dad. Okay bye." He ends the call, tossing the phone over to the empty seat. Adjusting his rearview mirror. He saw a few girls by the parking lot, all cheering and chatting. Oh the cheerleading team. Gilbert thought. He wasn't that much interested until his eyes layed upon a girl dragging her feet behind everyone.

His eyes lit up, her beautiful red hair swishing in a high ponytail. She was wearing their cheerleading uniform, meaning she was a part of the team now. Of course she was, Gilbert felt proud and smiled to himself. But then he stops himself, remembering something.

Girls fall in love with me, not the other way around.

With that he drives away until he reaches his destination. The hospital, Bash and Mary were there as Mary was discovered to be pregnant, and they went to the hospital for a check up, and Gilbert was to drive Mary home because Bash has to go to his night shift as a guard in a luxury hotel.

Orion Hotel and Services

Bash is Gilbert's good friend he met when he and his dad were traveling. And they were on a steam ship heading to Trinidad, where young Gilbert got lost and Sebastian helped him get back to his dad. Since then, Bash has been a close friend to the Blythe's.

They even let Bash come home with them to Avonlea, in Prince Edward Island. Bash lived with them, and then he met Mary, by the laundry shop, and they fell for each other. Well, more like Bash always getting his laundry done there, even though unnecessary, and constantly flirting with Mary, they got to know each other once Mary finally let him court her, and after a few years they got married. And Bash kept on working and so did Mary that  they got their own house and with Mary pregnant their house was bound to be a happy home. Their house was also just a few houses away from the Blythe's.

And it was right across, the Cuthbert's house. Where at this moment, Gilbert was opening the door for Mary, as she hugs him. Mary treated him like a son she's never had, and Gilbert smiled at her.

"Take care, Mary, and of your baby." Gilbert called after her, Mary chuckling at him.

"You too, dear. Send my thanks to your dad,  alright." Mary says opening the door to her and Bash's home. Gilbert soon enough got in his car and drove away, he could have sworn he heard someone say Anne's name.

Maybe it was just my stupid imagination. He thought.

But it wasn't, because Diana really did call Anne's name, breaking her from her long gaze.

"Was that...Gilbert Blythe?" Anne asked with a furrowed eyebrow.

"Yeees..." Diana says, dragging the word by. Anticipating what her friend would ask next, but Anne just kept shut, and whisked her head back to the road.

"Okay, let's go." Anne says, hurrying up. Diana was expecting Anne to ask who Gilbert was with. Because she didn't know it was Mary, Sebastian's wife, who was Gilbert's close friend. But Anne walked so fast she was left behind.

Diana smirked, knowing Anne, she wanted to ponder and think on her own. So she let her, and she would tell her everything later, or would she?

I have evil ideas sometimes. Diana thought.

Anne waved her goodbye, hiding her confusion, she wanted Diana to know that Anne wasn't bothered by what she saw and that she wasn't curious about Gilbert Blythe's love life. But Diana wasn't buying it. But Diana said goodbye to her as well.

I'm so not telling her, maybe then she'll finally burst out and ask me herself, or even better, ask Gilbert himself. Diana skidded to her house, with a look on her face.

Anne dragged herself to her room, she greeted Marilla and Matthew explaining briefly why she was home later than anticipated, and they understood but told her to learn to message them. Anne hasn't been using her phone. She was the only one in Avonlea High not obsessing over phones. But seeing as she'll be needing it more in high school she decided to finally get used to using her phone so much more than she did then.

She changed into her pajamas, brushing her teeth quickly before heading to bed.

Today had been exhausting but fun, I got into the  cheerleading team, and so did, Diana, Jane, Ruby and Josie. We had a bit of a celebratory party as they call it, in one of those videoke rooms. I was relieved they didn't had it at a place such as the club or something. I wouldn't have liked that, haha. But today I witnessed something, I admit to you that got me curious... ok fine, bothered. Gilbert Blythe was with a lady, whoever it was, she didn't seem like just some lady. Ugh whatever, I shouldn't care, should I? I don't care of course. It's not like he kept on asking to walk me home, but then he already had a lady-ugh what am I even writing, I'm sorry haha. Anyways goodbye dear diary, I am off to a good night's slumber.

Note to self, You spent quite enough time, thinking over some dumb boy. Alright, you are not to think about him anymore, done.

Closing her diary and putting it inside her drawer, Anne crawls to her bed. And soon she was fast asleep.
