"Hey Anne, you seem to have broken Gilbert. He's still not moving." Diana says and then she giggles as they walk in to the school building.

"His brain probably broke down, he simply couldn't think of a comeback." Anne says thriumphantly.

"I'm pretty sure it's something else, Anne." Diana says with a knowing glimmer in her eyes.

"Oh Diana if it's about something as stupid as he likes me or something, don't even start with me on it." Anne says.

"So you're not totally oblivious then!" Diana cheers.

"Oblivious about what?" Anne asks.

"About you and Gilbert, Anne!" Diana exclaims.

"What about me and Blythe?" Anne asks once again.

" You really are oblivious aren't you?" Diana says chuckling and shaking her head.

"About what?" Anne asks but Diana ignores her.
"Di about what?" But Diana just giggles at her.

"You're so hopeless." Diana dramatically says while touching her shoulder.

"I swear Di, if you don't tell me-"

The bell rang just in time. Diana flees as soon as possible with Charlie.

"Saved by the bell, see ya later Anne!" Diana calls out to Anne as she is being devoured by the sea of students.

"We're not done yet Diana Barry, I will see you later ." Anne says, with a bit of threat.

And she too swam the sea of students to get to her homeroom class.

Anne took her seat, and after a while Mr. Philips comes busting in thus starting the class.

Anne would listen attentively at times or whenever Mr. Philips would look at her direction, if not then she would stare out into the field and at the big old tree outside. She'd rather be under it reading a good book.

Anne would rather look to her left, at the window or upfront, at Mr. Philips or even up at the ceiling, she never looked to her right. Guess why?

"Anne." A slight whisper was heard by Anne, but she didn't pay attention. She knew well who it was who dares to bother her.

"Anne Shirley-Cuthbert." Another whisper. It was annoying her. Why can't he leave me alone? Anne thinks.

"Carrots." She rolls her eyes before giving the attention seeker her attention.

"What?" Anne answers. "Mr. Philips is calling you!"
Gilbert Blythe whisper screams and points at tge front.

Anne not wanting to get embarrassed quickly stands up. "Yes, sir?" Anne speaks. Making everyone turn around and look at her.

Mr. Philips looks at her incredolously. "Yes, Shirley?" He asks twitching his eye.

"You called me sir?" Anne asks, looking around at her classmates precious faces.

"No, I didn't." Mr. Philips answers.

And then there was awkward silence. Everyone looks back from Anne to Mr. Philips.

Gilbert doubles up, laughing. Anne glares at him. She get it now. Gilbert fucking Blythe is playing with her again.

"Oh sorry sir, maybe someone else called me or something." She chuckled awkwardly. And some of the class were laughing, and some were just nodding and some were just straight up confused.

Nonetheless Gilbert Blythe, embarrassed Anne Shirley-Cuthbert, again. And Anne isn't happy about it, she wanted to get back at him.

Anne looks at Gilbert who was smirking, instead of looking embarrassed she flashes him an evil smile.

Gilbert Blythe had never looked so confused as ever.
