Anne found herself standing awkwardly infront of Gilbert. She was wearing a casual shapeless dress and her hair in two braids as she wore a black hat around her head. She'd say she looked awful, but Gilbert's eyes says she looks awfully pretty.
Gilbert put on an effort to wear a gray sweater over his shirt and pants. Anne would be lying if she said ' He doesn't look good' Because he does. But Anne being Anne, flicks that thought away.
"Good for you to drop by." Gilbert says.
"Yeah good for me." She says sarcastically. She really didn't wanna go. But she didn't wanna be rude to Mary like she was earlier. She haven't even gotten to know her. And besides, how could she not go when Gilbert busted her lie.
"Can I come in now?" She asks as Gilbert just stood there like an idiot.
"Oh, of course." He says as he get out of the way.
"Lovely home." She comments as she takes a look around the house. It wasn't the cleanest, with clatter on the floor. And some broken stuff lying around. But Anne found broken things exquisite.
"Sorry about all the mess, they're getting their house new furniture. And it's a chaos here."
Gilbert said, but then he sees Anne's smiling face and just stares at her staring at a broken old clock.
"Fascinating." She breathes out as she lays a finger on it She felt a presence beside her, she steps out of her trance and looks at Gilbert.
"Oh I-I'm sorry." Anne said. "I didn't mean to touch it really." She said as if she touched an artifact in a museum.
"It's okay dear, it's just an old clock." A voice from up the stairs says. It was Mary. She comes down the stairs and once again Anne was in awe. Mary was an angel, she thought. No wonder...
"Gil, dear. Mind introducing me to the redhead you keep talking about?" Mary teased.
Gilbert looked at Mary, he was flushed and so was Anne.
"He talked about me?" Anne asks.
"Yes all the-." Mary starts off but Gilbert cuts her sentence, not wanting to embarrass himself any longer.
"Anne this is Mary, Mary this is Anne." He introduced both of them. As Anne gave Mary a quick hug.
" Nice to meet you Mary." Anne says. "Oh and I'm sorry about earlier, when I closed off the curtains on you and all."
"Nice to meet you too Anne, and it's alright sweetheart. It's alright if you got shy and that you didn't now me, that's why you closed them, I understand."
Anne smiled sheepishly. It was not it at all. But she didn't bother to say anything anymore. It was wrong of her to do what she did when she didn't even know Mary. And now, she feels that Mary is actually a kindred spirit. Oh kindred spirit is what she likes to call the people she feels kin with, obviously. She just like to make everything a bit dramatical.
Gilbert led Anne to the living room as Mary goes to cook lunch for her special guest, Anne, and all the time guest, Gilbert.
The furnitures were all being replaced so the only sitting area left at the moment was a two seater comfy couch.
Gilbert plopped himself down first as he opens the television. Anne just stood there eyeing the only couch she could also sit on.
Oh why was she just standing there like a tree? Well maybe because the couch was too small and that would mean close proximity to her enemy-wait when did Gilbert Blythe start to become her enemy?
