Birthday/TFW

I started my day off not so great. The boys had gone off on a big hunt and wouldn't be back for a few days. They promised me they would celebrate when they got back but it just wasn't the same. So I woke up alone.

But it changed as I walked into the kitchen and spotted the donut and coffee waiting for me on the counter. I smiled softly and looked at the piece of paper next to it.

It isn't much but it can hopefully make you feel better about us not being here. Happy birthday Y/N!!

I smiled and took a drink of the still warm liquid, loving how it felt after just waking up. For the next few hours, I watched TV, cleaned up the bunker, did laundry, read books. And there was still a bunch I could do.

It was when I was putting the clothes in the dryer when my phone dinged. I pulled it out to see a video sent from Dean. I furrowed my eyebrows as I clicked play.

"I don't understand. Why are we- how do we-" Cas's face was so close to the camera that I could see the hairs up his nose, and I could hear Sam laughing in the background.

"Cas gimme the phone. It's for Y/N." Dean gently took the phone and held it up so I could see all three of my boys.

"Hey Y/N!" Sam yelled excitedly.

"Sorry we couldn't be there!" Dean said guiltily.

"But we had to wish you a happy birthday!" Sam grinned.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!" They all yelled at the same time.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Today might be kind of boring without us there but I promise we will celebrate once we get home." Dean smiled.

"Ooooo! I call making cake!" Cas yelled excitedly.

Cas has gotten really into baking lately ever since I showed him how to make cookies. He wants me to teach him more and more and I recently taught him how to make cake.

"Yeah, you can make the cake and burn down the whole bunker." Sam said sarcastically.

"That was one time Sam." Cas defended.

"Alright enough. We love you Y/N and hope you have a great day." Dean grinned at the camera.

"Bye Y/N!" Sam yelled loudly.

"Goodbye Y/N." Cas nodded, smiling.

"See you soon." Dean smiled and the video ended.

I stood there for a moment, smiling to myself. I replayed the video just to see my boys happy one more time.
