Chapter 16

Alexander's POV

The entire time that John was driving, I was thinking about what the SMFDR said to me. They know. They know about my meetings with Maria. I looked over at John. I knew that they were going to use this against me. I didn't want to hurt Eliza, my friends, and mostly John. I decided that I should just wait.
They can't blackmail me that bad...right?
We pulled up to the dorms. I got out of the car. We walked up the stairs and down the hallway. We got to our dorm and I looked at John as he opened the door. His hair was sticking to his face. The tip of his nose was pink. His eyes were red and puffy as if he were crying. I opened my mouth to ask him what was wrong then quickly closed it. He probably didn't want to talk to me anyways. He finally unlocked the door and we stepped inside. We both got ready for bed and fell asleep. Well, John fell asleep. I was slowly falling asleep until I hear a ding. It was my phone. I opened it to see that Thomas Jefferson posted something on the school website.

Thomas Jefferson: Everyone pay attention! Have you noticed that the school has been loosing money? Well, it has. Alexander Hamilton has been stealing money so that he could pay off his school debt! I mean, he did come from a poor family, on a poor island. He was desperate for money as a child and still is! This just proves that he has been stealing money! Thank you so much for listening.

I couldn't believe this!
Why would he accuse me of stealing money from the school?! I have money!
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the sound of rain outside.

Lafayette's POV 💚

As soon as Herc unlocked the dorm, I ran to the bathroom. I knelt down in front of the toilet and threw up. I cried as I did so. I heard Hercules walk into the bathroom.

" Laf, baby? You okay?" Herc asked while kneeling beside me.
I shook my head and started to sob uncontrollably. I buried my face in his chest.
" I'm s-sorry for c-crying like a b-baby all the time!" I sobbed.
" No! Don't be sorry! I love you!" He said as he kissed my head.
" Lets go to bed, okay?" He said.
I just nodded. We changed into our clothes and fell asleep, in each other's arms, to the heavy rain.

John's POV

I couldn't go to sleep. I tried so hard but I still just couldn't fall asleep. I was just laying there. Angelica's song was running through my head. I went to close my eyes when I heard Alexander's phone ding. I heard a gasp from his side of the bedroom. I shrugged it off. I was about to fall asleep when I heard rain and then thunder. Then I heard Alexander whimper. That wasn't good. I turned around to see Alexander curled up in the corner of his bed, with his face in his hands. He was crying.

" Alexander? What's wrong?" I asked sitting up.
" John...h-help." He said.
I immediately jumped up and ran to him. I hugged him as he cried into my chest.
" Are you afraid of storms?" I asked while holding on to him.
He nodded.
" Why?" I asked.
He started to cry harder.
" Wait! Don't cry! You don't have to tell me Alex! Just please...don't cry." I said while running my fingers through his hair.
" No...it's ok. I'll t-tell you." He said.
He then told me all about his past.( I'm too lazy to write Hurricane) I couldn't believe that such a beautiful and happy person could have such a tragic past. My past wasn't so great either but it wasn't like Alex's.

" Hey, if it makes you feel better...I could tell you about my past." I told him.
He nodded, telling me to continue.
" Well...My life was perfect. Was perfect. I had a normal happy family. I had two younger sisters and two younger brothers. We were happy. Then, my brother and dad got into a car accident. My dad made it but..." I began to feel tears falling from my eyes.
" But your brother didn't make it." Alex said.
I shook my head.
" I'm sorry John. You don't have to tell me anymore." He said while hugging me.
" No. You told me about your tragic past, so you deserve to know mine." I said and took a deep breath.
" My mother and father were heartbroken. My dad would blame himself and isolate himself. He wouldn't come out of his office. We only saw him once every three months. He became skinny and tired. I hated seeing him like that. One random day, he came out of his office with a smile. He ran towards my mom and hugged her. He took turns hugging my siblings. When he got to me, he stopped. He told me to go upstairs with him. I said ok and followed him to my room. He opened the door and we sat down. We talked, laughed, and cried. The part of that night that I will never forget is when I told him that I was gay. He laughed. I just sat there confused. He told me that he knew all along and so did mom."
I began to laugh. Alexander wasn't crying anymore.
" Two years ago my mom was diagnosed with a disease. It can't be cured. When I left to come here, she was smiling and working like usual. Now that I think of it, I kind of miss them."
I smiled to myself. I looked over at Alex who was silently sleeping. I lied him down and kissed his forehead. As I began to stand up, he grabbed my sleeve and pulled it towards him. I sighed and lied down next to him. As soon as I did, Alex wrapped his arms around me and put his face against my chest. I blushed and wrapped my arms around his waist. We fell asleep just like that.
Before I fell asleep, I swear he said " The Reynolds pamphlet"

( Sorry!!!! Please don't kill me! Also, I'm tired of seeing comments stating that this is supposed to be a Lams book. It is!!! Be patient! I am the author of this book, therefore I do whatever I want. You seriously don't need to tell me that this is a Lams book! I know it is! All of this is for the sequel. So can you please be patient and wait for Lams to happen. I write this book for you! Do you know how many times I almost deleted this book?! A lot!!! I didn't though because I care about you. It makes me so mad and upset to have some of you telling me what type of book this is! So please stop! Ok...I'm done.
