CHAPTER FOUR: IS THERE SUCH THING AS AN AFTERMATH?
3rd Person's Point Of View.
It wasn't a surprise that Jihoon woke up with a terrible headache. He figured that he may have caught a fever after walking through all the rain last night.
Despite the sickness he was feeling, he pushed himself up from the bed then went on preparing for work. In the middle of his preparation, his phone started to ring which he had answered so fast after seeing that it's Soonyoung calling.
"I'm sorry, sir. But the Kang Enterprise had backed down from signing the contract. They said that they didn't want our company's name with theirs." Jihoon's eyebrows furrowed. Has Soonyoung forgotten that he had told him this yesterday?
"Soonyoung, haven't you told me about this already?" He asked, confused.
It went quiet in the other line, Jihoon thought that maybe Soonyoung had realized that he indeed already did. But Jihoon only got more bewildered when Soonyoung spoke. "What do you mean, sir? We just sent them the contract yesterday and they only told me about this just now."
"What?! You better not be playing with me right now."
"I'm not. I am telling the truth, sir."
Jihoon couldn't handle it. His headache is still killing him and having this conversation with his assistant would only bring him more headaches. He dropped the call and just proceeded down, expecting nobody there and just wanting to grab bread for breakfast.
But then he saw a familiar figure placing down delicious breakfast on the table. "Good morning, Jihoon." She greeted, showing that usual smile that he once loved.
"What are you doing here again?!" He exclaimed. After what he had said to her last night, he never thought that she'd still go back to his home just to cook for him like how she did yesterday morning.
She just looked at him weirdly. "What do you mean 'again'? The last time I was here was last month."
Now it was Jihoon's turn to look at her weirdly. Is everyone playing with him? "You were here yesterday!" He again exclaim, keeping his eyes on her.
She was wearing a plain white dress that she wore a cardigan over. And because of that simple outfit, Jihoon got more confused.
Isn't this what she was wearing yesterday?
"No I wasn't." She sternly denied. "Now eat up because I know you won't be eating lunch later." She added but this time with a soft voice. She pushed a bowl of rice to his side which Jihoon had pushed away.
"I don't have time for games."
___
His day just kept getting weirder and weirder.
When he had entered the company, some staff he overheard were talking about seeing him in a samgyeopsal house drinking huge amount of soju last night.
But he knew that he walked home after work and didn't even have time to eat because he was just to tired to prepare food for himself. He thought that maybe they have just mistook him for someone else, maybe they were carelessly pointing out things that weren't a hundred percent sure.
Soonyoung had seen him walking to his office. The assistant had went with Jihoon as he was going to discuss the problem with the Kang Enterprise. But even before he could speak, Jihoon had acted differently.
Jihoon's hands went searching for some papers that were on his desk last night. "Soonyoung, you didn't touch anything here, right?"
"Uh.. no sir. It was empty since yesterday because you had finished them already." Soonyoung said, leaving Jihoon speechless. "There are new reports and some.. resignation letters that were given to me. I will send them here later."
The boss' hands went to his head, as if he was not believing any of it. This is what had happened yesterday. Is this perhaps deja vu? Was everything that happened yesterday a dream?
"Soonyoung.. have you ever heard of deja vu?"
"Of course, sir."
"Then, do you believe me that I have dreamed of this day?" Jihoon's eyes getting wider as he was anticipating on the worker's feedback.
Soonyoung just shrugged. "I'm not sure, sir. Because I have heard that deja vu isn't really true. Your brain is just tricking you on thinking that this scenario had happened before."
Jihoon shook his head. He was sure that this had already happened. If not, why did it feel so real? Since the moment he woke up, then saw his now ex preparing breakfast, him drinking last night, and the Kang Enterprise not accepting their offer. He then remembered what had happen next.
"My father is going here." He muttered to himself but Soonyoung caught that on.
Soonyoung was weirded out by the boss. However, he can't say that to him unless he wanted to loose his job. He thought that, maybe it is deja vu and his boss is having a hard time coping with it.
And just like on cue, Jihoon's secretary had knocked on his office door and had said that his father was there to see him.
Jihoon had snapped his fingers and was wasn't sure whether he should be happy that he was right or he should be scared with just everything. "I told you, Soonyoung!" He said, almost shouting.
