CHAPTER EIGHT: HER

I..

I'm not stupid.

We've dated for six years, he loved me in the first four then started to change in the last two. I can see the difference.

He used to make efforts to be with me, grabbing each opportunity and I did the same as always. Surprise visits are never a thing anymore, calling every night never happen in the past years, 'I love you' s and 'I miss you' s are now forgotten..

We're practically strangers now.

I know that someday he'd break up with me, but why isn't he doing it? Being labeled as his girlfriend still, gets my hopes up.

Maybe he still wants to be with me. Maybe he's just very busy and stressed out.

I continue to have these thoughts, but I know they are now impossible.

3rd Person's Point Of View.

Jihoon stayed in his office. His thoughts remained unheard when he left the Kang Enterprise. He was silent all the way.

Just continuing his typical work, he decided to call him father. "Dad, I think I do need your help."

Enough. He needed to swallow his pride for the sake of the company that his family worked hard for. Accepting his father's help gave made him at ease. Because he knows that his dad would do everything to help him.

When the night came, the rain poured.

Jihoon didn't bother going to his car because he know that it was broken. It was still the same day, so the same things with remain the same.

Strangely, after knowing that this day was still the same, he panicked less. He thought that maybe the universe is giving him another chance to make it right. Leaving Soonyoung to handle the whole Kang Enterprise problem alone is not the correct way to do, not accepting his dad's help is also not very business minded, and going all crazy over this day won't do anything.

Maybe it was meant to make him learn from his mistakes.

His phone suddenly rang as he was going down the company building. Seeing that it was his girl, without knowing a small smile made its way to his lips.

"Hello?"

The other line was very silent. If she wasn't breathing he could've thought that he wasn't talking to anyone. "Jihoon.." She finally mutter, voice sounding sadder than usual.

"Jagi..?" The endearment trailed off like it was a foreign name, making him realize that he haven't used that in a while.

"Jihoon, I've been waiting for you to tell me this for a few days now. B-But it seems like you don't have any plans to do so.." Jihoon just furrowed his brows. Not getting what his Jagi was saying. "Let me do it. Let's break up, Jihoon. I'm setting you free."

Jihoon opened his mouth to respond but the call already dropped. This had happened twice already but why did his heart ached the most today?

His feet stopped walking as his eyes drifted to the exit of the building which lead him to think of a memory that happened when he just became the CEO.

"Waah. You look expensive." She joked while clinging into Jihoon's arm. "I know you'll do great."

Jihoon pulled her closer to him, resting his head on her shoulder. Just feeling her warmth was enough for his heart to flutter. "I'm nervous.." He said.

"Why? You've been training for this." She ran her hand in her hair, calming him down. "Stop being baby and go inside already." A chuckle left her lips when he shook his head.

She lightly pushed him away from her then cupped his cheeks. "You'll do great, Jagiya. Don't be nervous. Just call me when you have something you need."

Jihoon looked at the love of his life. Her cute encouraging smile made him smile as well, like it was something contagious. His heart fluttered like it always does when he's with her. He never thought that he could fall for her more than he is for her now. Her caring acts and words were melting him.

He loves her. So much.

Jihoon took the hands that were on his cheeks then kissed them softly. "Thank you. I love you."

"I love you more."

His heart ached.

It was aching for her.

There was no way he could leave her. She was his and he was hers. And he does not have a plan to change that.
