CHAPTER FIFTEEN: HER MISSION

3rd Person's Point Of View.

"Dear Jihoon, your letter has arrived and I'm sorry for what had happened to your beautiful girl."

Jihoon took her out but had to persuade the doctors to let them be. When he finally did, he drove her to a simple house with an incredibly beautiful garden. All she could do was gasp while Jihoon pushes her wheelchair to a bench surrounded by beautiful flowers. "Who's house is this?"

"Ours."

"You really love her. Just the way you write about her is so beautiful that I know she's the one.."

Her eyes fluttered, waiting for Jihoon to take it back but it never came. He's serious. "Our house?"

With a sweet smile that revealed his dimples, he answered. "Yes. I wanted a peaceful place to have you all to myself."

"Oh Jihoon.." She was speechless. She was never a materialistic person but having their own house? It was beyond heartwarming. She loved the term our whenever Jihoon mentions it.

"I really want you to be happy.."

"I want to be with you forever.." He whispers. His hand traveled to her cheeks, cressing it slowly. "I want to keep you safe. I want to start a family with you."

'But we can't', She thought but remained silent. Not wanting to ruin the solemn moment. "I want that too."

"I love you so much that every second I spend with you feels like a lifetime." Their foreheads touch. Their breath hitting each other's cheeks, Jihoon's hands still cupping her soft cheeks and their eyes closed to the moment.

Not everyone can see how special this was, but to them with their eyes closed, the moment felt like everything. Their hearts aching for each other because they knew, none of them are promised tomorrow.

She remained silent as she feels her tears threatening to fall.

"I cannot promise to be perfect, but I promise to love you with all my heart till I breath my last breath."

"Do as you wish, son. Be happy with her. Love, Mom."

"Please.. marry me."

_____

A few days passed. Jihoon had been staying at their home to make it more comfy. Not much people had visited him as he told them that he wanted to be alone.

But when he heard the door bell rang, he quickly made his way to the door to open it. "Sanbi?"

"Hey, I just wanted to see if you're fine." A faint smile was plastered on her lips.

He let her enter the house then lead her to the living room. "I don't have much in here.. er.. do you want coffee or-"

Sanbi had interrupted him. "I'm fine, Jihoon. Although, we aren't that much of 'friends' I still want to make sure that you're fine and alive."

"Alive.." He said, repeating the girl's last word.

"Jihoon-" Sanbi wanted to comfort him, but she didn't know how to. Considering how much in pain he was for the past few days, she doubt that whatever she says would bring him comfort. "I understand-" Her attempt to comfort him has been cut off when jihoon suddenly exclaimed.

"You don't understand, Sanbi! Why did it have to be her? Why not me?! All she did was be kind while I did horrible things to her.. why did she have to go?"

Sanbi's eyes fell, it was the first time she saw him like this. Very fragile, like he would break any moment now. "It was her time, Jihoon. She had to go--you should let her go.."

Yes.. the day after Jihoon proposed to her, she died. One moment they were happy, the second he was already grieving. How things can easily change.

Jihoon lost count to how much he had begged the doctors to save her, but all they did was give him apologetic looks saying that they did their best.

His heart is hurting.

Jihoon's heart felt like it was ripped away from him. They just go engaged, they barely had time to tell the others.. but everything ended so soon.

"How Sanbi? How can I let her go when she's all I think of?"

"You love her so much.."

"Of course I do. I did so much shit and I deserve to be in such pain. But she..she didn't deserve to die. She's so young, so kind, and so..loving." He says with a light shake of his head.

"I guess you learned your lesson." She said which bewildered the boy. "I did the right choice."

"What do you mean-"

Sanbi quickly walked towards him, her face lit in delight and her hands crossed. "I mean, my mission is over."
