Chapter 18 - Briar's POV

A couple days have gone past since I've seen Max. I haven't really thought about him since I've been so busy with the girls, but every moment that I've got to relax all I can think about is him. I've gotten multiple forms of advice from different people, but honestly I still don't know what I'm going to do. Luckily for me I don't need to worry about that for at least a few more days.

Since we're super busy with recordings these music videos, Dan booked up some hotel rooms and that's where I've been spending most of my time when we aren't recording. So far, we've recorded two videos in a matter of three days! We've also come up with the last two songs we needed, so that's a big relief. The thing about one of the songs is it's not really a girl empowerment songs, it's more of a love song. But it's so versatile it can mean so many things. But the girls and I decided that we wouldn't choose one meaning, it's up to the listeners to decide what it means to them. That's the video we're shooting next, except we're doing during the night so we have all day to ourselves other than a photoshoot that we just got done with.

"I'll see you girls tonight, I'm going to go catch up on some sleep," I said my goodbyes and headed back to hotel room, it was about four in the afternoon which meant I had a couple hours before I needed to start getting ready. Once in my hotel room I fell onto my bed, it felt so good to finally be relaxing, that was until I heard my laptop making some noises. I sat up and looked across the room, my laptop was somewhat closed but it was clear that someone was trying to face time me. I headed over and sat on the chair, I opened it up to see my dad calling? I hovered the mouse over the green answer button, then clicked it.

Instantly, my dad, Billy and Leo were on the screen, they were inside the lifeguard tower. Since Emily has been helping me with this project, my dad has had to take the boys with him to work.

"Ri-ri!" Billy yelled, "when are you coming back?! We miss you," Billy frowned, I chuckled a little.

"Don't worry buddy, I'll be back in a few days, I promise," he was relieved to hear that, "until then you and Leo have the lifeguards to keep you company! You always talk about how you love being with them," I smiled. As I told them that some of the lifeguards came into the picture, they wanted to say hi too.

"She's right Billy, you're one of us," Maxi spoke, "the youngest lifeguard on the service!" Billy giggled, I smiled because I was glad that even though I was gone, Billy was still having a good time.

"Say Briar, are you going to be back for the fundraiser gala?" Jesse asked, I had told my dad already that I probably wasn't going to make it, but that's all part of the plan.

"As much as I'd love to be there, I probably won't be back in time," I sighed, it was really hard to keep a straight face but I knew how awesome it would be to surprise everyone by showing up last minute! To add a performance in is over the top, so I knew I needed to play it off, "but I'll make sure to watch it! Can't miss what you've lot have been planning the last couple weeks."

"Speaking of planning, what are you gone for anyways?" Harrison asked, that is another thing that I can't let anyone know about.

"You blokes just have to know everything don't you?" I joked, "but in all seriousness I've been sworn to secrecy, I can't say anything! You'll just have to wait and see," I grinned.

"Not even a hint?" Maxi pleaded, I honestly couldn't think of a hint that wouldn't give away what we were doing. Wait- actually there is a way to describe what we are doing without giving it away.
