Skye's POV
"Adolebitque ignis, resurgemus terra" I said as I felt the fire burn in my hand and the earth quake under me. It's been two weeks since we came to training. After the first day we never did get any explanation as to what is going on. I made the fire swirl around me and the dirt and rocks swirl in the opposite direction. I looked over to Skyler and saw water swirling and freezing and I could see the air keeping it from falling to the ground. She found her power. The one she was born with. She has the power to teleport from place to place. I think its really cool. She's not to impressed though.
I also found my own power. It is lame compared Skyler's. I have the ability to heal anyone or any living thing. I mean yeah its cool I get to help people and animals or any other living thing but come on to be able to teleport is awesome. It will make our going home easier. I think we leave tomorrow but I cant remember. We still have to get some answers from the elders.
"Come on children you have to work for it" Another young woman with bright green eyes said.
"Push yourselves" The red head said. We have been working almost none stop since we got here. Since we have three powers we have had to work three times as hard as anyone.
"Skyler, Skye" the red head yelled. I stopped what I was doing as did my sister.
"Try working together with your extra powers" she said
"How" we both asked.
"Think about how the four elements work together, there is a reason you are both identical and have inherited these powers, you have to learn to work together as well as apart" she said as she walked a bit away from us.
"Think you can make my water boil?" Skyler whispered with a sneaky smirk on her face. I grinned back at her and she brought into our view a bubble of water. I added some dirt to make it muddy and started to heat it up as she used air to shape it into a owl.
"Very good girls. When you get home you need to continue to practice. You will only get better with time." the red head said with a pleased smile. "Also you can leave tonight to head home. Don't forget to come see us if you need more help." she said with a proud smile as she walked away.
We ran to the cabin we shared. We still haven't gotten any answers to who and why someone wants us dead. We grabbed our bags and I reached for Skyler's hand. She held on to mine and asked "where do we go". Good question I thought "to our real parents house" I replied and we vanished and reappeared there. I walked into the kitchen to see what we had for food. It was slim pickings so I started to write us a grocery list.
"Skyler" I called.
"Yeah" she said coming in.
"What do you want from the store" I asked looking into the pantry. Flour, sugar, soda, canned veggies.
"Cereal, and doughnuts" she said as I finished writing the list.
"Ok I will be back shortly, will you be ok alone for about an hour?" I asked.
Her face started turning pink. She looked down at the floor and was rubbing the toe of her shoes in a circle.
"What" I asked her looking nervous.
"I contacted Brett. Jaxon and him are on the way here now" she smiled
"Dammit Skyler we have more important things to deal with other than your hormones" I hissed at her.
"You heard the oracle we all have to work together" she pouted at me. Dammit I know she's right but I hate Jaxon. Well ok not hate hate but I really dislike him.
"When will asshat and Brett be here? I asked running my hand over my face exasperated. I have to learn to like the guy. I just wasn't gonna make it easy for him.
Her eyes fogged over and then cleared up. "In about twenty minutes" she replied. I half smile and grimace at the same time.
"Give him a chance Skye" she said running her hands down my arms. I huff and go to grab my keys and go to the car.
I started the car and backed out of the driveway and head toward the store. I blare the music as loud as I can and sing along to the radio. It took about fifteen minutes to get to the store. I grab my shopping list and get to work grabbing things we will need. After about an hour I go to the register and wait my turn. After I finally paid for the groceries, I went back out to my baby and loaded it full with all the bags.
I start the car and turn my radio up yet again, and start the drive home. I never seen the other car as I went through a green traffic light I felt the impact and the world went dark.
