The Prey

Chapter 13

                                                                    Skye's POV

  The hour flew by. Skyler and I had changed into workout gear and warmed up our muscles. We had trained since we could walk by our dad on how to protect ourselves. He even put us in boxing classes as well as Kung Fu and a few various other classes. After I almost killed a girl I stopped fighting and just walked away from confrontation. We made our way to the giant group that was formed into a circle. They parted for us as we joined Mark in the middle.

  "You girls ready" He said. We both shook our heads yes. "Who wants to challenge Skye and Skyler?" He asked the big crowd. Two very muscled ladies stepped out. How the fuck is that fair I thought. I mean we are not weak but there arms are as big as our thighs. 

  "As the two strongest female warriors in the pack we will challenge them" one said. Mark actually looks nervous. I just looked at Skyler and we shrugged. We walked into the middle of the circle to look into the faces of our challengers.

  "The rules are as follows. You may shift if you wish. No killing and fight fair. The one that backs down first is the loser. No one may interfere. And no magic. Are the rules understood." He asked. We all shook our heads yes.

  This was going to be tough I thought as I looked at the big wall of muscle in front of me. I looked to Skyler and she like me was just standing there. We looked completely bored. We knew in order to win this the muscle ladies had to make the first move. After a minute or two they did. They lunged at us and we just side stepped them and moved around to the  opposite side. They growled and lunged again but instead of side stepping I grabbed her arm and threw her over my shoulder into the grass behind me. No see at this time is where that twin connection becomes kinda freaky. Skyler did the exact same thing. Peoples jaws dropped at this because we haven't said a word to each other. The ladies got back up and looked very mad.

 "You will pay for that" They said as they came closer. They slowed down their moves. The one headed towards be punched me in the jaw and I flew back stunned. When I got to my feet she punched me in the gut. Before she could hit me again I faked a left hook and uppercut her in her jaw sending her flying into the crowd. I turned to watch Skyler which I should have known better because the lady tackled me from behind and pinned me to the ground. She punched me a few more times and I could feel the blood fill my mouth. When she went to hit me again I grabbed her wrist and twisted. I heard a snap and she yelped in pain. It caused her to get off of me and I took advantage. I had to end this quick. I started punching her in the stomach and kicked her over I landed a wheel house to the side of her head knocking her out cold.

  "The first round is over" Mark yelled. Some member's of the pack came out and took the ladies. I will have to apologize to them later. "Who else wants to challenge them" No one stepped forward. "We need four more challengers" Mark said looking confused. 

  "Alpha" someone said. "They shouldn't have to fight anyone else. Maria and Serenity are the strongest females, if they defeated them then no one will win against them. 

  Mark looked at Grace and the others standing with them. They had their own private conversation for ten minutes. "Do you member's of the Red Moon Pack accept Skyler and Skye Morgan into our pack." Mark finally asked

  "YES" they all yelled. "Then the acceptance ceremony will happen this evening with a party and BBQ." he said.

  "Girls" Grace said

  "Yes Ma'am" we replied.

  "Lets get you to the pack doctor so we can see what damage was done. They did not take it easy on you." She said as we followed her to where the doctor was. I felt so sore knowing I probably had a few broken ribs and god know what else might be broken. 

   We where lead into a room with two small hospital beds. The doctor and nurse came in. "That was some very impressive moves you girls had" he said with a chuckle. "Maria and Serenity will be out for awhile"

  "Are they going to be ok" I asked.

  "Oh heavens yes, bruised ego's though" He smiled. "Now lets have a look at ya. As I suspected" he said after looking at both of us for twenty minutes. " A few broke ribs, dislocated shoulders, and deep bruising. Will only take you a few days to heal" he stated as he relocated our shoulders. When he popped it back into place it hurt so fudging bad a few tears escaped my eyes. Same with Skyler. He put a sling on us to keep us from using it. By now I just wanted a nap because he gave us some pain medicine. 

  "I have called Jaxon and Brett to come carry you both to ya'lls room to rest" Grace said as if she read my mind. About five minutes later Jaxon and Brett walked in.

 " Great horny toads what happened to you two" Skyler said. I was just as shocked. They where covered in bruises.

  "We tried to go save you both and where restrained." Was all they said. They picked us up and carried us to bed. 

  "Can I lay with you again?" Jaxon asked.

  "Ummmm....why?" I asked feeling my eyes grow heavy from the medicine.

   "So we will heal faster" He replied climbing into the bed, I was to tired to argue as I drifted off into my peaceful slumber. 

  After a good couple hours of a nap I woke up feeling a little better. Jaxon wasn't in the room anymore. I made my way to the bathroom and looked into the mirror. My bruised face looked a little better.  It was still swollen but the bruises were not black they faded into a purple/green/yellow color. I walked out and made my way downstairs to smell meat being barbequed. My stomach growled and my mouth started to water. 

  I found Grace standing with Mark talking to the doctor guy. She smiled at me "Are you ready dear?" she asked. 

  "As I will ever be" I smiled back. I found Skyler with Brett and walked over to them. "I think they are ready to start" I said. Skyler grab my hand and we followed Brett to the stage. I looked around for Jaxon but didn't see him anywhere. Mark got on the stage and we began.

  "Do you Skyler Morgan pledge your loyalty to me as your Alpha and to this pack as a pack member, promising to take care of anyone in this pack?" Mark said. Skyler said yes and Mark pulled out a dagger dragging it over his palm then handing it back to Skyler for her to do the same. Once she did they shook hands. Now it was my turn. I repeated the same and sliced my hand. Once I shook Mark's hand and invasion of voices entered my head. I covered my ears thinking it might help.

  "Picture a wall blocking the sound in your head" Mark said in the mist of the noise. I did as he said and the noise went away. "Good, now you must know something that we haven't yet told you, meet Grace and I in the garden after you eat." and his voice was gone. That is strange and freaky, it will take me some getting used to. I made my way to the buffet of food. 

  After about thirty minutes of stuffing myself I tried to find my way to the garden. I was almost there when someone grabbed me from behind and stuffed a rag over my nose and mouth. I tried not to breathe but we all know that don't work. I fell to the ground and my world went black.
