The Prey

Chapter 24

                                                                            Jaxon's POV

  I kept my eye on Jasmine for the past two days while my mate and her siblings rested. I filled Brett in on what I was thinking and he helped. I am currently holding Skye's hand praying for her to wake up. I kept thinking about what their ancestors said to use. I needed to stretch so I kissed Skye on the head and walked outside.

  I saw Caleb laying down in the grass. "Hey bud where is your mom?" I ask

 "She went into the woods and told me to stay here" he replied. "Its very boring just sitting here with nothing to do"

  "Brett where are you?" I ask through our mind link

  "Went home to gather some guards be there in 15" he replied

  "Can you come in through the East side Jasmine left through there and told Caleb to sit still. I don't know how long she's been gone." I replied

  "Sure thing" he replied

  "That woman wants to hurt our mate" my wolf howled while pacing back and forth in my head.

   "We don't know that" I argue trying to calm him down.

  "When is Daddy gonna wake up" Caleb ask.

  I look down at the little one "Soon I hope. Hey are you hungry?" I ask him  

 He looked off to the woods and looked at me with a sad expression "No" he mumbles

 "He lies" my wolf said with a sad whimper "The pup is very hungry" 

 "How about you help me make some lunch and we can have a picnic while we wait on your mom" I suggested.  His eyes lit up as I put my hand out for him to grab. He looks at my hand then back at the woods then at my hand again. He looked to be battling himself and he finally grabbed my hand hunger won.

  We made our way back into the house and to the kitchen. "What would you like to eat" I ask him. 

 He looked deep in thought for a few minutes while I waited I began grabbing some bread and cheese and ham to make myself a grilled ham and cheese.

 "Mac and Cheese with grilled ham" He finally said. I placed my sandwich on the hot pan and grabbed a sauce pan and added water to it and placed it on the stove. I reached over and flipped my sandwich then went and grabbed the mac and cheese. I took my sandwich off the pan and placed it onto a plate.

 As I waited for the water to boil I turned around to see Caleb trying to get into the chair at the counter to watch. I walked over and helped him up.

 "Jaxon" I hear Brett say through the mind link.

 "Yeah" I say back as I turn back to the now boiling water and add the noodles.

 "She is nowhere around here" He messaged back. I furrowed my brows in confusion.

 "Where the hell is she. Who leaves their pup sitting outside for god knows how long to fend for himself" I practically yelled to my brother.

  "I don't know" he replied. "I am coming to the door, can you grab me some shorts?" he asked.

  "Sure" I said. I wonder where she went. I grabbed the shorts and took my sandwich off the griddle then stepped out the back door and tossed them at my brother.  I walked back in and the water began to boil so I added the noodles. I am no where near as good as Skye at cooking. Damn I hope she wakes up soon.

                                          Skye's POV

  Where am I, I thought to myself. I was back in the creepy forest. I could still hear the strange man and woman singing for me to come closer but I just couldn't find them. I have been looking everywhere. I heard a twig snap and I turned around. My heart was thumping so hard I thought it would come right out of my chest. I didn't see anything nor did I hear anything else so I kept walking. I could feel someone or something watching me. I had goosebumps all over my body. I kept looking around trying to figure out who or what was watching me. I heard a rustling in a bush next to me and I screamed and jumped back as a ghost deer walked out. It looked at me with big sad eyes. I know I had to have looked like a fish out of water. I couldn't figure out what to say or do. I just continued to walk by.  I stared in the direction that it went for a few moments. I think the creepy forest is getting to me. I took a few deep breaths and closed my eyes. 

 After I composed myself I started walking again towards the voices. I hated that I had to push ropes out of my way. I mean why where they even hangin on the limbs. I came to a cave where I could hear the lady and man beckoning me to come in. I don't know about ya'll but I have watched a lot of horror movies where this does not end well for me. I couldn't move I was terrified. I just stood there staring at the cave. 

  "Go in" I heard someone whisper in my ear. I jumped at least ten foot in the air while letting out a scream. I turned around and there was no one there. "WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL" I yelled. I still couldn't find the person even tho I searched. I walked back to the death cave and stepped in. I really hate creepy places and this was on the top of my list now. It was dark but because I'm a werewolf I could still see. I continued going deeper praying I don't have to blast some creepy monster with fire. All the sudden I am on top of a mountain peeked with snow. Where the hell am I. 

  "You finally made it my child" I heard a woman say. I turned and looked right at a beautiful blue and silver dragon. My jaw dropped and I went to go back into the cave feeling it was safer only to hit a rock wall. 

  "You scared her my dear" I heard a male say. When I turned to the voice I saw a beautiful red and black dragon. I shook my head. I have to be dreaming.

 "You are dreaming my dear" the woman said. "We had to show you the way. You must come to us for you have much to learn. I shook my head again she must have seen my confused face because she chuckled. I didn't even know dragons could chuckle.

  My mouth fell open in shock. "Come again" I said

  "You must come with your sister to train. The human witches can only show you so much. Come find us and you must hurry the battle of good and evil will begin whether you are ready or not." She replied. "So wake up all of you and hurry" She said breathing smoke in my face. I coughed and was pulled into blackness.

  So sorry my dears for the long wait. Have had some things going on and depression kicked in a bit. I am better now. I will try to get a few more chapters in to make it up to you.
