As soon as we met
when you asked me that question,
your smile catched my eyes.
I can't tell anyone what I feel
and it's coming out of these lines.
There is no escape.
Your smile is simply
what it takes
to make my day.
Unbelievable!
Beyond any understanding
is the power
of a genuine, innocent
smile.
These are dangerous thoughts.
No good can come from them,
I am used to the deceit
behind such a smile.
Yet there is no escape.
Can't delete these thoughts.
They won't go away
as long as your smile stays.
Way too powerful feelings
for such a little detail
that will hunt my dreams down.
I know where it leads.
Better not go down that way,
I'll have to bury that smile somewhere
And never, ever dig again.
And yet
there is no escape.
