"Hey Dad! Mom!" I greeted my parents as soon as I see them before turning to maids, "Paki-ayos nalang sa kwarto ko please." I reffered to my luggages.
"How's the Island? Come, lets eat." Sumunod ako sakanila papasok ng dining area, naabutan ko si Zyros at Dryce na nauna ng kumain, the maids are serving drinks and foods in the table.
"Its fine, Dad." I sat ang drink the wine, "Well, I guess its better than before." It feels like I was gone for a year, nahome-sick ako ng malala don.
"By the way," sinulyapan ko si Mom bago sumubo ng karne, "We'll visit your grandparents in Russia tomorrow, maybe we'll comeback after a week or so.." napatango ako, I stayed in Russia few months ago. "You can continue your work in the University, I know we can count on you." Tipid lang akong ngumiti at tahimik na kumain.
"The engineers assigned in the new aircraft of Rhodes flied away, The police officers are looking for them." Napatingin ako kay Zyros sakanyang sinabi, he's holding his iPad and reading an article. "The investigation is on going, however, they found out it's caused by machine, the engineers are guilty with it, they found missing few hours after the planecrash."
Nabitawan ko ang tinidor at hindi makapaniwala, "W-What.."
"Airlines of Rhodes had gain bad reputation in public," napailing si Dad, "They're trying their best to lift the company up by assigning your boyfriend as the CEO immediately."
I am expecting this but I didn't know it'll happen this quick, "I-Is Tuecer okay? Dad, nakakausap mo naman sya. How's he?" Nag-aalala ako, their company right now is a disaster and I feel so bad for him cause I know I can't help.
"He's trying to help the company with all that he can," Ani ni Zyros, he's handling business together with Rhodes group so he knows better, "Nakasuhan ang kompanya nila dahil sa aksidente, worst, the grandson of Chairman Verzosa is one of the passengers in VIP area, he's one of the missing passengers. Hindi pa rin matapos-tapos ang imbestigasyon dahil tumakas ang mga aerospace engineers." Nilingon ako ni Zyros, "Don't bother him yet, you're not his priority this time. Give him a break with your relationship." Nakita kong pinigilan syang pagsalitain nina mommy ngunit huli na't narinig kona ang gusto niyang sabihin.
Napainom ako ng tubig, "Are you saying I should break up with him?" Nagsimulang magbaga ang aking dibdib, he doesn't have the rights so say that.
"Makakasira sa kompanya natin ang reputasyon nila sa ngayon, Zenica." Maatoridad ang boses nito na parang sya ang daddy ko, kahit si Dad ay nananahimik lang naman. "Layuan mo muna si Tuecer, madadamay tayo sakanila." Niluwagan niya ang necktie, natawa ako ng mapakla.
"Their company problem have nothing to do with our relationship, Mr. Zyros," sarkastika ang aking pananalita, "Dad, Mom.." I asked for my parents help cause I can't stand my brother, he's strict and vivid.
"Please understand your brother, Zen. You know how devoted he is to Hamilton companies, But Zyros.." binalingan ni Mommy si Zyros, "Let Zenica out of their business problem." Dahan-dahan akong nakahinga ng maluwag, akala ko'y ganun rin ang gusto nilang gawin.
Mabigat ang aking paghakbang papasok ng aking kwarto, pakiramdam ko'y napakatagal kong nawala nang sumalubong saakin ang amoy nito sa aking pagpasok. Binuksan ko ang cabinet at kumuha ng cellphone, I have a lot of phones and I got sick with the phone I used when I was in Playa Fuego. Napatitig ako sa pangalan ni Tuecer sa contact list. I am deeply thinking if I should call him or not, but in the end, I couldn't...I can't be a burden to him, I know he has a lot to handle lately.
