(Y/N) POV:
The skies were blue, and the sun shined high up in the sky, making it a beautiful day, especially for mine and the gang's first day of work. While me and the girls were assigned to set up the dining tables (at least that's what I think they are), Fred and Shaggy were told to help people learn how to golf. I know what (F/A/N), Scooby and I talked about yesterday, but I'm still broken up inside about Shaggy, knowing that he has a crush on Velma, and only sees me as a friend. So, not sure what else to do, I thought of asking Daphne for some advice on how to get a guy to notice you, since she and Fred are together, while also trying not to give anything away.
"Hey, Daphne, can I ask you something?" I ask.
"Sure," she says. "What is it?"
I try to choose my words carefully. "Uh, well, you and Fred? Is that something you'd recommend?"
"What do you mean?" she asks.
"Well, what I mean is, I know what you and Fred said yesterday in the van, about "meant to be together". But I don't think you ever told us if it was really official between the two of you," I try to explain, making sure she doesn't get the wrong idea of what I'm trying to say. "Basically, are you and Fred actually dating or just hanging out for the summer?"
Realizing the meaning behind my words, Daphne answers. "Hanging out? No, Fred is totally my boyfriend,"
"Really?" I ask, earning a nod. "Huh. And here I always thought that football players like to play the field. You know, not get so serious,"
"Me too. I never thought Fred would be the relationship type, but he totally is," she says.
"So, you and Fred are definitely serious about each other, huh?"
"It's totally serious. Fred's cool, he feels the same way," she says, as we move on to adding flowers into vases as decorations for the tables.
"Well, it certainly sounds like you two are perfectly in sync," I say, placing the flowers into the water-filled vases, while Daphne cuts off the extra stems with a pair of scissors.
Daphne nods her head. "Yeah. Exactly. Though, out of curiosity, why ask? Is there someone your interested in?"
Even though she meant well, and was kind of joking, I didn't answer. When Daphne realizes why, her eyes widen in shock.
"OMG. There is someone you like, isn't there?" she asks.
"Yeah," I say simply.
"Is it someone I know?" she asks, looking eager.
"Yeah,"
"Well, who is it?"
"First, you have to promise not to question or judge my tastes on why I like him, okay?" I ask. She nods her head, promising not to be judgemental. I let out a sigh, giving my answer. "...It's Shaggy..."
"Wait, what?" she asks, shocked.
"Remember, you promised not to judge," I reprimand, not wanting her to forget her promise. "Anyway, yes. I've really got it bad for him; have ever since we were kids. But...I don't think he feels the same about me. He's started to have feelings for Velma, thinking me as nothing more than a friend, so...I was hoping that maybe I could get some advice on how to, you know," I try to explain.
"Oh, (Y/N), why didn't you just say so?" she asks, her expression showing how bad she feels for me.
I let out a sigh. "I don't know. Maybe because he's the first and only guy I've ever had feelings for, and that I just don't know what to do. I mean, I've never been a date before. Former bad girl of Coolsville High, remember? I've told (F/A/N) about it, since he/she's my best pal, and is trying to help me as best as he/she can, along with some help from Scooby. But other than that, I don't know how to get myself noticed by him when he's falling for somebody else,"
