A/N: First off, welcome to another story of mine. I know, its exciting. Second, I'd like to say a big thank you to Llamaloyd for being the inspiration for this story. Her teacher/student works are AMAZING and her other AUs are also incredible. I've been 'hooked' since the first page. Oh dear. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy. Its been a while since I've written a teacher/student book. Naturally, like my other one, this will be full of smut. So enjoy that too.
Love of love n stuff,
Raynaxoxo
Emerys Taylor walked down Storybrooke's Main Street feeling like the biggest outsider in the world. Her parents had forced her into moving to this nowhere town from New Orleans for a reason that still remained unknown to her.
She glanced to her left as she hugged her leather jacket to her body, spying a small diner named Granny's.
She stepped in and shook the misty rain from her clothes as she went up to the counter.
"Hi, I'm Ruby." A slim girl with chocolate brown hair and bright red lips grinned to her.
"I'm Emerys." She replied, giving an awkward smile.
"Nice to meet you. I guess you're new to town." Ruby sang.
"Yeah. I just moved here from New Orleans." Emerys mumbled, not really making eye contact.
"Wow, that's amazing." Ruby chuckled through slight disbelief. "What can I get you?"
"I'll just get a coffee, please."
"Sure thing! Take a seat and I'll bring it over to you." Ruby's smile only seemed to get brighter, if that were possible.
Emerys nodded and moved over to sit at a two-seated table by the window, sighing heavily.
She looked around the diner, scoping everyone out.
There was a day-drinker sat in one of the bar stools at the counter, a few couples dotted around the place and a man sat alone, writing in a journal.
Emerys couldn't seem to take her eyes off of him.
His short, yet still shaggy hair was so dark it was practically black, his leather jacket hugged his arms nicely and his skinny jeans seemed to do the exact same thing against his thighs and calves.
"Here you go!" Ruby chirped, placing the cup of coffee down in front of the new girl. "Is it okay if I sit?"
"Uh, sure." Emerys replied quietly, gesturing to the seat opposite her.
"Awesome." Ruby plopped herself down, leaning in to give Emerys her full attention. "So will you be going to school here after summer? Or have you already graduated? You look like the sort of girl who could be any age." She giggled.
"Yeah, I'll be going to school. I'll be a senior." Emerys replied.
"Oh awesome, me too!" Ruby said, way too excitedly for Emerys' liking.
The new girl glanced up as she noticed the journal guy was leaving. But she quickly looked away when they made eye contact, him giving her an adorable little side smile that made Emerys' heart flutter.
'Oh Jesus... Here we go...' She thought to herself.Later that evening, after dark, Emerys found herself sitting on the docks, her legs dangling a foot above the light waves.
She had piano music softly playing through earbuds and a bottle of whiskey she'd taken from her dad's supply.Dear diary,
I already hate it here. I miss the French Quarter. This place has no culture, no life. I mean, this girl Ruby is okay - but she's way too bubbly for my liking, but it looks like she's going to be my only friend for a while, so I guess she's cool.
I'm still waiting for my parents to tell me why they moved me to this timeless curse of a town. They can't seem to give me a straight answer. But mom's got this new job as the Sherriff and dad's just become the new Principal at Storybrooke High.
As if my life couldn't be any more of a joke, I'll be going to a school where everyone's going to know that I'm the Principal's daughter. Oh joy.Send help.
Em.Just as she closed the book, she felt a presence behind her.
Looking up, she saw that it was the journal guy from Granny's.
She removed an earbud and gave him a small smile.
"Is this your thinking spot too?" He asked, his English accent seeping through beautifully.
"I suppose so. But I can find another spot if you want your privacy." Emerys replied, quietly, moving to get up.
"No, no. It's fine." The man smiled. "May I?" He gestured to the spot next to her.
"Sure." Emerys nodded, grabbing the bottle of whiskey to take a sip.
"Has today been that bad?" He chuckled.
"Hellish. I don't even know what I'm doing in this ghost town." She sighed, offering the bottle to him.
He thanked her as he took it, taking a fair gulp.
"Damn. That's good stuff. You've got taste, lass." He smiled. "I'm Killian, by the way."
"Emerys." The girl nodded her greeting.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. Can't say I've heard that name before. It's as beautiful as you." Killian nudged her shoulder with his.
Emerys chuckled as she turned her head slightly away from him, so that her long white curls covered her blushing cheeks.
"You keep a journal, love?" He gestured to the book in her lap.
"Yeah. Keeps all the bad shit out of my head." She breathed a chuckle.
"I do the same. I figured that if I write all my problems down, as soon as they're inked, they don't matter anymore." He told her.
"Exactly..." Emerys' interest in the man had peaked. She turned in her spot towards him to show him just that.
"So... You're new to town?" He made small talk, which usually irritated the Hell out of Emerys, but she found herself unable to mind with him.
"Yeah. I moved here with my family from New Orleans. I have to admit, this place sucks compared to there."
"New Orleans, huh? I have to say I've never been. But I'd love to." He smirked.
"Maybe I'll show you all the best spots sometime." Emerys chuckled, playing with her nails.
"That would be lovely." Killian smiled genuinely. The pair talked for hours about anything and everything.
That was, until the mood was spoiled with a text.
Emerys pulled out her phone, seeing it was from her dad.
'Come on, kiddo. Time to come back. It's getting late.' The text read.
Emerys sighed impatiently.
"Bad news?" Killian frowned.
"I have to go..." She said, getting up and packing her journal and earbuds into her satchel.
"Ah, I can't deny I'm a little disappointed. Would you at least let me walk you home?" Killian asked. "If that's where you're headed, of course."
"Sure." Emerys chuckled, tucking a few of her curls behind her ear.The pair made sure to take their time walking back to Emerys' house.
Killian almost walked into a couple of lamp posts as he couldn't stop looking at how stunning she looked in the light of the full moon.
And he couldn't help but feel sad when she informed him that they were outside of her house.
"Well, it's been lovely talking to you this evening, Emerys." He smiled.
"Yeah, I actually had fun. So thank you for that." She chuckled, putting her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket.
"I'm glad. We should do it again soon." He took his phone out from his pocket and unlocked it, moving to the keypad, then handed it to her. "Do I get your number, is the next question."
Emerys smirked and took the phone from him. "I don't see why not."
She typed in her number and added it to his contacts under 'Emerys x' before handing it back to him.
"Perfect. I'll text you. Final question; may I have a goodbye hug?" He raised an eyebrow as he outstretched his arms.
"Sure." She giggled, wrapping her arms around his waist as his wrapped around her shoulders. "See ya, Killian."
"Have a good rest of your evening." He said, then waited for her to at least get her front door open before he made his way down the street.Emerys laid in her bed that night, thinking of her evening.
She looked around, surrounded by boxes that'd yet to be unpacked and released a gentle sigh as her phone buzzed.
She picked it up from the nightstand and read her message.
'Hey, it's Killian. I just wanted to say (again) that I had a really good night with you'
She smiled as she typed her reply.
'Me too. Would you like to do it again tomorrow night? X'
A reply came almost instantly.
'How about coming for coffee round my place? If you don't want to, I understand. I get it, strange man and all. Just know I'd never do anything to hurt you x'
'Fuck it... Why not? What time? X'
'Pick you up from your's at 1? X'
'Sounds good to me. Goodnight Killian x'
'Goodnight Emerys x'
Emerys smiled, putting her piano music on quietly and placing her phone back down on the nightstand.
In no time, she fell into a peaceful sleep.Meanwhile, Killian laid in bed in complete darkness, looking up at the ceiling, unable to keep the events from that evening out of his mind.
She was beautiful, she was insightful, she was intelligent and she actually seemed to give a crap about what he had to say.
It wasn't long before he fell into a dreamless sleep, eagerly awaiting the next afternoon.
