A week has passed with no sign of Emerys' memories being recovered and it was getting harder and harder for Killian to see and empty chair where she should be in class, but he was sure it was nothing compared to how it was going to be with her back at school.
One evening, Emerys decided to go through the contacts on her phone, texting every name she didn't recognise.
She had gotten to know her friends again, but there were still a few loose ends.
She laid on her bed, scrolling through her contacts when she got to 'K'.
Only one name was there.
"Killian..." She uttered to herself.
She pressed the text button, which took her to a whole bunch of conversations.
She began to realise that whoever this 'Killian' was, she loved him dearly and he loved her too.
She decided to text him.
'Um hey. So I was going through my phone and saw our past text conversations. If you don't mind, I'd like to meet up and talk. I don't know if you know this, but I lost my memory in an accident. I'd like to see if I can get some of those memories back.'
She placed her phone down on her stomach, looking up at her ceiling.
A few minutes later, her phone buzzed.
'Yes I know about your memory loss. I think meeting up would be a good idea. Your favourite place was always the docks. Would you like to meet there later tonight?' He texted back.
'I'll be there at nine.' She replied.

Nine o'clock on the dot, Emerys showed up at the docks and sat in what she was yet to remember as her favourite spot.
Soon after, Killian's grey and black Chevelle pulled into the parking lot.
He couldn't have been more nervous.
How would she react when she found out that she'd been dating her teacher basically since she moved here?
He slowly made his way down the docks, fully aware that Emerys couldn't quite see him through the moonlight yet.
But when she did, she gasped and stood up.
"M-Mr Jones..." She stuttered. "What are you doing here?"
"Emerys... Sit down, please. I'll explain everything." Killian replied.
The girl couldn't be any more confused, but complied with his request and retook her spot on the edge of the dock.
"So... You're Killian?" She mumbled.
"Yes. We met the day you moved here. Unofficially at Granny's, officially right here where you're sitting now." Killian smiled. "You had your journal in your lap and a bottle of whiskey at your side. We talked for hours and quickly grew close, I walked you home and it went from there until school started and I discovered that you were my student and I your teacher. I tried to call our relationship off, but you were a wreck and I wasn't much better. I couldn't get you off my mind. So we started our relationship again on a discreet basis. We spent Christmas together, your birthday. I got you the necklace you're wearing."
Emerys looked down at the pendant, reading the quote inside.
"I was wondering where this came from." She chuckled. "I love it."
"I know." Killian smirked. "As part of your Christmas present, I took you back to New Orleans and you showed me all of your favourite places – the cemeteries, the Café du Monde, Theodora's Voodoo Shop. We went to see Stevie Nicks play live and you had the time of your life."
Killian pulled out his phone, going to his gallery where he flicked through pictures of them in New Orleans.
"Wow... I don't think I've ever seen myself so happy." Emerys sighed. "I just wish I remembered it."
"I'll help you." Killian said, going to his music playlist.
He pressed on their song and turned up the volume before standing up.
Landslide began to play as he held out his hand for Emerys.
She looked up at him, confused, but took his hand anyway.
The pair of them danced in the moonlight to the music.
"I love this song." She mumbled against his shoulder.
"I know you do, love. This is our song." Killian replied, softly, taking in the fruity scent of her pale hair.
"This feels so right..." Emerys whispered as the song came to an end.
Despite the lack of music, the pair continued to sway to their own tune.
"That's because it is right."
Emerys parted slightly from Killian.
"I wish I could remember all of this." She sighed.
"Well..." Killian shrugged. "Perhaps we can make new memories to keep you company until your old ones come back - if you want to, of course."
"If you don't mind, I'd like to think on it." She replied.
Killian couldn't deny that he was a little disheartened, but he understood entirely.
"Of course, love. I'll be waiting until you decide. However long that takes." He smiled, leaning in to kiss her forehead gently.
