The months rolled by and eventually it was Christmas.
Thanksgiving had been okay, but Emerys had basically been put on house arrest for the entire holiday. She was determined to see Killian over Christmas and he felt the same way. So when it came to Midnight on Christmas Eve, they had set up a plan.

But a week before that, Emerys had been struggling to find him the perfect gift.
Between working all the hours she could get, spending time with Killian, sleeping and school, she simply hadn't had the time to find a good enough present.
Regina and Zelena had decided to take her to New York for the weekend to stay with their family, but also to help with gift finding.
They entered a small jewellery store, but nothing seemed to scream out 'Killian' to Emerys and she was getting rather frustrated.
"It's alright, Em. We'll find something for the secret boo." Regina winked, nudging the girl she had come to call her best friend.
"It's just nothing really stands out to me. This'll be our first Christmas together and I want it to be perfect." Emerys sighed, running her fingers through her white curls.
"We'll find something, even if we all have to go broke until our next pay check." Zelena smirked, throwing her arm over the girl's shoulders.

A few stores later, Emerys was about ready to give up.
But then she saw something in a shop window that made a smile crawl its way back onto her face.
"I've found it." She nodded to herself, entering the store.
Once bought, she left the store and showed the girls.
"It's perfect. He'll love it." Regina smiled.

After the New York trip, Emerys was given a ride home by Regina and Zelena's mother.
"Hi honey, how was New York?" Jocelyn asked, hugging her daughter before she even had a chance to put her overnight bag down.
"It was good mom, thanks." She choked out, her breath being restricted by her mother's shoulder.
"Did you find a present for mystery boy?"
"Yeah, though we had a hell of a time finding it." Emerys rolled her eyes.
"When is it exactly that we're going to meet this boy?" Her father asked, coming out of the living area. "It's been almost six months since you first brought him up."
"I don't know, dad. But I'm sure if you keep bringing it up, you'll scare him off. It's bad enough that he knows you're the Principal of the school and mom's the Sherriff." Emerys rolled her eyes.
"Not one of those 'bad boys', is he?" James raised his eyebrow.
"No. But it's still pretty intimidating." The teenager replied.
Her dad shrugged.
"Fair point, I suppose." He said. "I still want to meet him, though."

"And then he asked if you were one of the bad boys." Emerys smiled, holding the speaker of her earbud close to her lips as she drew in her bedroom.
"Oh God. What did you say to that?" Killian chuckled on the other end of the phone.
"I just said no and that it was only because they're pretty intimidating." She replied.
"Well, tickle me intimidated."
"You're ridiculous." Emerys giggled.
"And you love it." She could hear the smirk in his voice.
"Yeah, I suppose I do."
There was a comfortable silence for a few moments.
"What are you up to, love?" He asked.
"Drawing."
"Drawing what?" He pressed.
"You." She told him as she finished off the final touches to his hair.
"Oh, you have got to let me see it." He said.
"Perhaps." Emerys shrugged.
"Oh shit... Liam's here. I've got to go. I'll see you in a few days, okay?"
"Yeah, no problem. Say hi to him for me." She sang, a wide grin on her face.
"I shall. Bye, love." He chuckled, hanging up the phone.

By the time Christmas Eve rolled around, Emerys was dying to see Killian. She was due to spend the evening with him, where they would exchange their gifts and spend some time together.
"I'm off to mystery boy's. I'll be back later tonight." She said to her parents, practically skipping towards the door with excitement.
"Alright darling. Get home safe." Her dad waved her off.
The snow was coming in quite hard, but Emerys didn't mind. She knew a gorgeous fire and an equally gorgeous Killian would be waiting for her soon.
"I can't believe you didn't let me pick you up." Killian sighed, opening to door for her.
Her fitted suede coat was damp and covered in snow, so she made sure to take it off outside and brush it down a little bit.
"I like the snow. It's the same colour as me." She chuckled, removing her gloves and hanging them on the heater by the door.
"Well, you're not wrong, I suppose. My little Ghost." He smiled, bringing her in for a kiss. "Bloody Hell, love. Your face is like ice."
"That's because it's cold outside. I thought we just established this, Killian." Emerys raised her eyebrow.
"Aye, alright. Less of the sarcasm." He laughed. "Come in and sit by the fire. I brought down blankets."
"Yes sir." She smirked.
Killian turned to her, his eyes falling dark.
"Save that for later, love." He mumbled, sitting down on the floor where he had laid out various blankets and pillows.
"Spoil sport." Emerys huffed.
"Come sit. I have your Christmas present." He instructed, raising an eyebrow.
She did as told, plopping herself down next to him, instantly feeling the heat from the lightly crackling fire.
From under one of the pillows, Killian pulled out a small black box, wrapped with a red bow and an envelope.
Emerys reached into her bag and pulled out a slightly larger box wrapped neatly with love heart wrapping paper.
"You go first." She smirked, handing him the box.
Killian gave her a small smile, passing her the box and envelope so that he could open his gift.
He tore at the wrapping paper like a child, causing Emerys to giggle.
Opening the box, he gasped.
"Oh my God! I love it, kitten." He grinned, leaning in to give her a kiss. "Give me a hand?"
Emerys chuckled and nodded, taking the necklace from the box.
She shuffled on her knees round Killian and latched the necklace around his neck, allowing it to fall gently on his chest.
He looked at the pendants with a warm smile.
One of them was a ship and the other was a little disk with 'E' on one side and 'K' on the other.
"Do you really like it?" She asked.
"I absolutely adore it, love. Thank you." Killian leaned in and kissed her once more. "Your turn. Open it." He gestured to the box beside her.
Emerys untied the bow and opened the box, seeing a keychain with 'K' on it in a beautiful font.
"Aww Killian. Thank you, it's stunning." She smiled up at him, genuinely loving his gift.
"That's only the first part. I thought you could do with something you can actually hold, since the main part of your present you can't technically keep."
Emerys frowned, her mind wondering to every possible thing that could be in the envelope.
She placed the keychain down on the blanket and reached for the second part of her gift.
She swiftly ran her finger along the top of envelope, tearing it open with ease and pulling out the four pieces of paper inside.
"Oh my God..." Her eyes went huge. "Killian..."
In her hand sat two plane tickets to New Orleans and two tickets to see Stevie Nicks live.
"I thought you could show me around all your favourite places in New Orleans and then we could go see Stevie together." He smirked.
Emerys couldn't contain her excitement. She launched herself at him, embracing him in a tight hug as they both fell to the floor.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She squealed, peppering his face and neck with kisses.
Killian laughed. "You're most welcome, kitten."
"Oh, you're going to love New Orleans. I'll show you around all of the French Quarter and all the Witchy places and the Bayou and the gorgeous cemeteries and my favourite bakery. It's going to be amazing." She beamed.
"I can't wait, love." Killian smiled up at her, leaning towards her to give her another kiss.

After a Christmas Eve meal and a fair amount of drinking, Killian walked Emerys home, just as he did the evening they had met.
"Man, this brings back some memories." Emerys chuckled, taking Killian's hand.
"Indeed it does, love." He smiled, taking in her pale beauty in the moonlight. "Except tonight there's more snow..."
"It's not so bad. I think it's romantic."
"I think so too." He gave her hand a small squeeze.
All too soon, they arrived outside Emerys' house.
"Fuck..." She mumbled. "That walk is way too short. Can we not just walk around the block?"
"You should really get to bed, kitten. It's really late." He sighed, brushing a loose strand of hair from her face, tucking it gently behind her ear.
"I know..." She whined, twisting her house keys between her fingers, watching the newest keychain twinkle in the light of the street lamps.
"Goodnight, love." Killian smiled, caressing her face in his palm.
She nodded, leaning up to give him a kiss.
"Text me when you get home, okay?" She mumbled against his lips.
"I will." He chuckled.
"Goodnight Killian."
