It's been a few weeks since. I'm doing better. I'm okay. I've gone back to my quiet self in school and Kaden is back to his normal self, making out with girls at every corner of the hall.

I'm so used to it by now that it doesn't bother me anymore. If that's how he moves on, it's fine with me.

I'm going to finish my last year and move the hell out of this town. A new beginning. A new life where no one knows me. A clean start.

"Do you really have to apply to all these jobs?" Tiffany asks with a disgusted look, eyeing all the papers on the counter.

"Yes." I tell her. "I'm very grateful for your help and letting me stay here for as long as I want but I can't keep staying here. It's your apartment. I don't want to bother you anymore."

"You're not a bother at all. I like having you around. It gets lonely here sometimes." She sends me a reassuring smile.

"Thank you." I smile, grateful at all that she's done.

I still have to work to save up for when I move away. Working part time at the boxing gym is not enough.

Tiffany goes back to playing away at her phone and I focus on the applications in front of me.

The doorbell rings a few seconds later, getting the attention of Tiffany and I. We both glance at each other.

"That's probably my mom. We made plans for lunch." I watch as she gets up from her seat and walk to the front door.

She opens the door to reveal a lady in her late 40s. Tiffany pulls her into a hug and lets go.

"Come in mom," Tiffany invite her mom in and I get off from my chair to greet her.

"Hello," Mrs. Moss greets me with a warming smile. I freeze in my spot once I get a clearer look at her.

Oh my god. It's her. It can't be.

I've had a picture of her by my bedside since she left. It's the one thing I look at every night before getting lost in my mind while staring blankly at the ceiling. I'm certain I'm not mistaken. It definitely is her.

How can she be here? How can she be Tiffany's mother? She left me to start a new family of her own? Was I not enough?

"Mom, this is Casey." Tiffany's nervous laugh breaks me out of my reverie.

Mom. The word sounds so foreign.

I stay quiet, forcing a smile on my face.

Mrs. Moss steps closer towards me. "You look really familiar. Have I seen you before?"

I look at her, speechless. The aching in my chest grows and I can't help but swallow down the hurt and betrayal I'm feeling.

I sent her a fake smile and reply, "No. I guess I just have one of those faces."

She smiles in return and turn to Tiffany. "Are you ready?"

"Yes." Tiffany answer before turning to me, "Do you want to join us?"

I hesitate before answering, "No. I'm good. Thanks."

She gives me a smile before walking out of the apartment with her 'mom' by her side. The door opens and closes, leaving me all by myself.

A gasp escapes my mouth as soon as the door closes.

Hello friends! Sorry for the long wait, but I'm finally finished with school for now so hopefully, I'll get to write more. :)

I'm debating rather or not to continue this story after chapter 30. I originally planned to end it after chapter 30 but I have another idea and want to continue it.
Should I continue it or end it after chapter 30?
