'All we do is drive
All we do is think about the feelings that we hide
All we do is sit in silence
Waiting for a sign
Sick and full of pride
All we do is
Drive.'(**)
I wake up in my bed, my head thumping and my throat as dry as the Sahara. I sit up and notice an aspirin and water next to me and take them. There's a soft knock on the door and Hollie enters in skinny jeans and a teeshirt, giving me a small smile.
"How you feeling?" She asks, flopping onto the bed. I move over to make room for her, and yawn.
"Not terrible." I shrug, a sick feeling re-entering my stomach. Sam..
"I still can't believe what Sam tried to do. I'm shocked." Hollie rolls onto her side, looking at me. I nod in agreement. "Are you going to talk to him?"
"Luke wants us to 'investigate' on Monday. He'll be too sick to come to the football game tonight I imagine." I tell her, climbing out of bed. I comb my drawers, looking for something to wear.
"Ashley went home a few hours ago. Dylan is downstairs, he's going to drive us to the game." She informs me, picking her nail polish. I turn around, smiling.
"I only have three bedrooms. Where did Dylan sleep?" I ask innocently, throwing some shorts on. She rolls her eyes, her cheeks turning a nice tint of pink.
"On the couch idiot." She mutters, pulling at her top. I get dressed and head downstairs with her. Dylan is in the kitchen, eating cereal. I notice the couch looks pristine, the cushions barely touched and not a duvet in sight.
"Thanks for cleaning up the couch so well Dylan. Looks like you never even slept in it!" I exclaim, popping some toast in. He glances at Hollie and back to me, his own cheeks now going red.
"Uh, you're welcome?" He says, his eyes flickering back to his cereal. I just smirk at both of them. I'm not as oblivious as they think.
We all drive to the pitch and Dylan rushes off to get ready. I smile, watching him run quickly towards the locker room. I get in line to get sodas for me and Hollie, knowing Ash will already be up there with her own. As I climb the stairs, I see the two of them smack bang in the middle of the bench waving wildly at me. I curse silently at them and squeeze past ten or so people, sitting in the middle of them.
Our team, The Blue Devils, are up against the Thunder Hawks. We cheer loudly as our team runs onto the field. The quarterback, Ryan Seller, waves to everyone and I notice Ashley cheering a little louder. She looks at me and I smirk. Her cheeks tinge pink slightly and I laugh, turning round to cheer again.
--Luke POV--
"Okay guys. We ready?" Ryan asks and we all shout 'YEAH.' We're all pumped. I spot Riley in the crowd and get a sour taste in my mouth, thinking about last night. I can't believe Sam. I ignore the taste and sprint off to line up.
I wonder if she's okay. She seemed fine as she waved me off last night, but who knows how she was really feeling?
I line up and take the ball, Ryan right behind me. Kyle's to my right, Hunter to my left.
"Hut!" Ryan says and I give him the ball and run right. He crashes through players, knocking them out the way. They bring him down and Hunter manages to get the ball. He passes to Eric before being tackled and Eric passes to me. I sprint for touchdown and score. 6-0. Everyone in the crowd goes mental, standing up and cheering. The cheerleaders start their usual chant, all of them shaking their pompoms.
