I sit in my english class, praying the period will pass quickly. I'm starving and if I don't get something soon, I will collapse.
Not that I'm dramatic or anything.
It started with my alarm going off late and I wasn't prepared to move straight away (which is really not smart. Snooze buttons are seriously evil.) Then it lead to me looking for my keys, which always go missing just when I need to leave. My phone sometimes likes to play that game too, though it certainly isn't fun.
I've been late twice this week, my guidance teacher making a face at me as I sign in.
"You shouldn't be this late Miss Fray. School starts at 8:30 sharp." She states that morning. As usual, I shoot her a fake beaming smile and walk to class.
43 minutes to go..
People are still arriving, laughing and pushing each other. A few sit on their desks, chatting. I watch them enter, smiling to a few.
One of my best friends, Ashley, enters with her boobs popping out of her camisole. I make a pulling up motion at her and she looks down, looks back up and shrugs. She likes them out and likes to try quote Shrek to get away with it ("Better out than in!! Shrek himself said!"). She's ridiculous- in the best way.
My kind-of recently ex-boyfriend Sam enters and smiles briefly at me, raising his hand to wave, but I turn away, ignoring him completely. He drops his hand, with a red face, and walks to his seat near the back. I recently found him getting a little too friendly with my 'friend' Isabelle Hylee in the locker room. Lucky thing I forgot my keys, or I'd have never found out.
The only time I was happy to actually lose my keys..
I face the front of the class, doodling on my notepad. Mr. Grande -my favourite teacher- is shaking his head at Hollie and Dylan, my other best friends, entering the room giggling their heads off. They're both pink in the cheeks and look a little breathless. They take a seat near Ash and wave at me, pretending to fall asleep already. I stick my tongue out at them.
Mr.Grande is a great teacher but his lessons can be super boring. Everyone has that one teacher that drones on. I mean, you get them started on one thing and they keep going and end up on something random. We talked about verbs once and ended up talking about raccoons.
Weird, right? But that's Mr.Grande for you.
I got moved to the front for talking to my friends too much, thus the reason I'm not near them. That was embarrassing having to move and everyone watching.
I'm pretty sure I looked like a tomato, ripe and red.
I'm barely done my drawing when he claps his hands, startling me. I drop my pen in my fright, and fish around for it on the floor. I can feel people staring at me and my cheeks colour red. I hate people watching me.
He starts the lesson once i'm sat up and ready, and I watch the clock, sighing. This is gonna be a slow lesson, as he's already talking about pronouns..yawn.
38 minutes to go...

"Hey, loser!" Ashley yells, waving me to our usual lunch table in the corner and gathering strange looks towards us.
I walk quickly past the 'popular' table, who are anything but popular. Just a group of extremely confident idiots. Karina, the 'head', blinks her extended eyelashes at me and frowns. I duck my head a little, trying to ignore her.
