A/N at the end

''Maybe I know somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts."

The next morning arrived far too quickly, the sun streaming in the window. My TV is still on and I groan, reaching for the remote.

Except I can't move. I wriggle a little, almost panicking that I'm paralysed or something before I look down and see someone's arm over me.

"Ah!" I sit up quickly, shoving the arm away roughly. Whoever it belongs to falls off the bed with a tumble and groans.

"Is that how you wake everyone up? You must've sucked at sleepovers." It's Luke, of course. I didn't realise he'd stay over.

"Why are you here?" I crawl to the edge of the bed, looking down at him. He's still fully dressed, except for shoes.

"You wanted to watch a movie. We both just fell asleep again." He sits up, rubbing his back.

"It's a school day." I remind him.

"Fantastic." He replies sarcastically. He yawns and makes his way to my bathroom.

"Hey!" I say and race out of bed, blocking his way as he raises his eyebrows at me. "Nuh uh. Go home or something. I need the bathroom more."

"Fine." He moans, reaching for his shoes and shoving them on.

"Hurry up and get to school, okay?" I say and march inside my bathroom, slamming the door.

"Want me to shower with you?" He shouts from the outside and I turn on the shower to drown him out.

"Can't hear you!" I reply and he laughs.

"See you at school, Fray."

"So are you not expecting anything today?" Hollie says picking up water.

"No, why should I?" I say and she smiles knowingly. I glance at her.

"Well it's Valentine's Day. You have no admirers?" She pokes my side.

"Nope. I'm a single gal this year." I shrug.
placing my tray on the table. "Not that I'm bothered before you get any ideas."

The rest of the gang join us, bar Luke, and Dylan places a gift on the table. It's a bracelet, covered in charms. Hollie squeaks in delight and hugs him, showering his cheeks with kisses.

Ryan rolls his eyes at them, pretending to gag for my benefit. I chuckle and Dylan catches him.

"Oh, don't pretend you aren't like this wish Ashley." He says. Ryan just rolls his eyes again. He waits until they're distracted and pulls out a small box, putting it in front of me. I open it carefully and a tiny ring sits inside, beautifully engraved with an R.

"Ryan I think you're great and all, but usually buying me dinner is a better start than a ring." I tease.

"Shut up." He turns it back towards him, looking nervous. "Will Ashley like it?"
