"Hey, Parker. Uh, can I tell you a secret of mine?" I keep my eyes upwards, looking into the starry night sky.

I feel Parker shuffle around a bit beside me.

We continue swinging gently on the floating bed. My fingers tap on the chains holding the bed onto the tree branch.

"Yeah, of course. But why a secret?" Is Parker's reply, I slowly sit up to look into his eyes.

"Uh, just because you're leaving tomorrow. I wanted to tell you... That I like you! Ellie always is saying that I have a crush on you, and I think she might be right." The words come in a rush out of my mouth.

In the dim moonlight, I see Parker's eyes widen.

When his face relaxes again, he admits something I would never expect him to admit.

"Wow, I didn't think that feeling was mutual." He says, beginning to chuckle softly. I feel my jaw drop, it hangs there for a few seconds before I close it again.

"Then what are we supposed to do...?" I ask, my voice very hushed.

As quiet as a mouse.

"I honestly don't know, this has happened to me once or twice. But the feeling wasn't too strong so I just tore away from those girls and went back on my journey. I don't want to do that to you, your poor little heart would probably break. But I think it'd be best that way." Is Parker's answer.

Not a very good one in my opinion.

"What if I come with you?" I suggest.

"Well, you sure do have the spirit of an adventurer. But your family would hate me if I let you come with me. Too dangerous out there in their opinions, probably." Parker shrugs a little, he sits up completely now.

I follow his lead, "What if we ask them then? We'll make it a vote. Majority rules.".

Parker looks back over his shoulder to me.

"Okay" Are the only words that come out of his mouth.
