When I wake, sunshine is trying to peek past my lacy gray curtains.
Chirping sounds echo from the Pidgey nest in the oak tree outside my window. I sit up groggily and rub my temples. Eventually, I fall back down onto my back and roll sideways. My blanket piles stifles my fall, a comfy landing too.
A moan escapes my lips as I get up and begin my daily morning routine. Making my bed, getting dressed into something feminine, brushing my teeth and hair then going downstairs for breakfast.
I slide down the stairway railing to cut down the time. Looking around, I notice that no one was around. I immediately switch on the kettle and stir up a hot chocolate.
"Hmm, I wonder how long it'll take for Parker to get up? Should I wake him up?" I contemplate quietly, tapping a finger on my warm mug. Wrapping my fingers tightly around it, I drink a nice long sip. I shiver at the sudden heat of it and relish the sweet taste.
"Morning, Miss Greenes." I look up to see Parker, a hand in his hair. He continues to ruff up his dark hair as he walks down the rest of the stairway. His smile lights up the room.
I look him up and down, "Well, you look cleaner. My mother should like you even more than she already does.".
Parker chuckles and makes his way towards me.
"Hand, please." He reaches for my hand. I slowly take it away from my toasty mug. Parker instantly takes it in his and plops down on the chair next to me. My eyes bug out and he just laughs.
"Soft, right?" He carries on threading my fingers through his hair.
"Y-yeah..." The stuttered words fall out of my gaping jaw.
"Oh, sorry. Guess you're not used to this sort of manner. My brothers used to do this stuff to me and much worse. But relax, I won't do that to you." Parker's grin drops slightly when he sees my shocked expression. He gently pulls my hand out of his hair and places it back onto the handle of my mug.
"Hey, you remember my promise? I was wondering if you'd be up to going out there today. I'll give you one of my Poké Balls. Do you have a pair of trousers? It's be easier to catch a Pokémon if were wearing some. And if you don't have a proper shirt, you can borrow one of mine. One of my clean ones, I do have one or two left." Parker says, one of his huge hands on my cheek.
My head bobs slightly, sort of like a nod.
Then he takes his hand away and walks back up the stairs, "I'll be in your guest room if you want me.".
