Track

I went to Max's room to find a track. I saw Alec who was sitting there and holding Max's pillow. How could Jace talk like that when he saw him? Unbelievable! He raised his head and looked me in my eyes.
" Did you kill, Jace?" He asked. And that's who he is. Even Jace is piece of shit, he consurnes about him. He doesn't deserve it.
" You would feel it if I killed him. And no, I didn't. He is your Parabatai and Tessa's descendant. Even if I wanted to, I would not do it." I said. He smiled at me but that wasn't a happy smile.
" I don't know if I can feel that. I am feeling something is odd about him." He said.
" He is a Herondale. He is always odd." I said when I sat next to Alec. He put his head on my shoulder.
" Yeah, you are right." He said sadly. I knew what he actually wanted to talk.
" Can you give me the pillow, Alexander?" I said but he didn't give it.
" I tried. It didn't work." He said.
" Let me try." I said. He gave me the pillow. But it didn't work like he said.
" We aren't going to find him! Can we?" He said. But I refuse to believe it. I turned his face to me with my both hands.
" We are going to find him, Alexander. I promise. But like Tessa said, they kidnapped him for advantage. That's way we can't reach him. Because they probably put spell on everything which is Max's. But I believe that they won't hurt him." I said to comfort him. But it didn't work.
" We love him but Clave don't care about him. How they can get advantage from him! He is just a baby!" He said. Yeah, he was actually right but an other person answered it.
" Not to Clave. For downworlders. They will see that Clave won't do anything about him. For an innocent baby. And one of his parent is a Shadowhunter. But they want to start a war of thr death of Shadowhunters. It will show downworlders that Clave don't care about anyone who is not completely a super Shadowhunter." Tessa said.
" Don't take this personally, Alec. I didn't mean anything bad." And she added.
" None taken. Actually it is a good idea. But we won't tell the Clave about it. How are they going to accuse them?" Alec asked.
" They will come with something. But there is more important thing. Magnus, is there anything, anything that they can't erase Max's track on it. Please think." She said. But I don't remember. We took everything when we came here and put them in here. Except...
" There is one thing that isn't in here. His first blanket when we found him. We forgot it at the Academy." Alec answered. He seemed more energetic now. So I was.
" Tessa, we'll go there to look for it. But there is actually one more thing that I didn't bring it. Can you go and get it for us?" I asked. Alec didn't understand what was I telling because I didn't tell it before.
" Yeah, sure. Where?" She asked.
" There is a box in my old house in London. You know where it is. I cut Max's hair and put into it because of my dream. In my dream a man told me to put his hair their." I said. Yeah that dream was strange but I felt that I had to do what dream told me to do.
" What dream? You didn't tell me." Alec said. Of course I didn't. I didn't want him to worry but clearly I was wrong.
" I saw my father. That's why I didn't tell you. I knew he couldn't come but still I had a strange feeling. In my dream he said that I need to cut his hair and hide it where I become friend with Shadowhunters. I couldn't hide it in the London Institute of course. But I didn't think that I would need it." I said. London really meant so much to me but also it is the place where I suffered a lot.
" I know, you don't want to go there if you have to. I'll go. We can meet couple of hours later and start to search." She said. I hugged her.
" Thank you for being here. I know that it is really hard for you." I said.
" It's nothing" She said. But I knew that it was. I was sure that an Institute was the last place that she wanted to be after losing Will and Jem. Jem is still alive though. But not for her. She went to the door to open but I stopped her.
" Tessa, when all of this over, I'll tell you a way that you and Jem can be together." I said. She turned. I could see in her eyes that she didn't believe me.
" I stopped searching for that for a long time ago. Please, Magnus don't say one more word if you are not sure." She said. I understood her really well. But I'll do it. I need to. After she has been through, she deserved to be happy.
" He was here in our wedding. He is the same man you loved." I said.
" Maybe he is. But it won't change anything unless he isn't going to be one of them. I can't be with him. It's forbidden." She said sadly. I refuse to believe that. Alec and I were forbidden. But if we can be together so they can.
" I promise you if it doesn't work, I won't stop. I'll search for it as long as I am alive." I said. I really wanted her to be happy after everything she has done for the Shadow World.
" If you can, it will make Will really happy. See you soon, Magnus." And she left. I turned to Alec when he asked me something.
" Who is Jem?" He asked if he can know.
" It's not my decision to tell you, Alexander. When we come back ask Tessa. Now are you ready to go." I said when I handed him my hand and he hold it.
" Ready than I can every be." He said and I opened the portal and we went through it.
