The Voting

And there we were. Walking to the Clave meeting. I hope we were not late because of Jace. Thank God we weren't . They were still fighting when Jace nearly broke the door. Every single one looked at us. And there she was Jia Penhallow. Consul. Aline's mom. She was the only one who wasn't surprised. Instead of surprising she smiled at her daughter. Maybe Clave didn't want us to involve. But I could see that Jia wasn't one of them. But she talked seriously like she should.
" What are you doing here?" She asked.
" We heard that there is going be a voting for going to war. And Me, Helen and Aline can vote too. And Simon here( the daylighter) represents the downworlders for Magnus Bane. Like me. I represent Alec Lightwood." Jace said . He and Aline looked at each other and Jace nodded. Then Aline and Helen went to their seats.
" Why are you represent them? Where are they?" She asked. There were unbelievable ideas spinning around the room. Like 'What can you expect from a downworlder? They are making out. No they adopted a baby. Yes a warlock, Iykk.' Like this kind of stupid things.
" Quiet! Answer the question Jace Herondale!" She asked. I understand it right now. She wanted to see Alec and Magnus instead of us. Alec said that he have alliances. Woaw! Consul!
" I can't answer that because of the safety problems they are having right now. But we are here to speak for them." He said. Nobody would believe that he actually was sad after he talked like that.
" Well. Then tell us!" She said. I hope Jace would not mess up. I knew what I'll say but I didn't think that he does.
" We know about everything but we can't go to war." He couldn't continue because of the noise. Everyone was speaking at the same time. And I didn't know why I did it but...
" Shut up! For ones! Can't you just don't listen the person who is trying to tell you something. I know that you don't care of my ideas because I am a vampire but you can for ones you can forget about our differences and listen with you all heart." When I finished nobody said anything including Jace so I kept going.
" Yeah you want to get revenge and you have every right. But didn't you thing that it is exactly what they want. Seelies are smart. Sure they want war, that's way they killed one of you but they want us you to suffer and I don't believe that if we win we can get anything. We'll lose anyway. Your, our people will die and more and more people want to get revenge. But if we stop thinking with our hearts and start to think with our heads we can find an advantage. Maybe more than one. If we found that we could stop the enemy circle. We can give better life's for the people who come after us. We can do it. We just need to be united. That's it. Now he is with me. (I showed Jace.) With us as one." First nobody said anything and I thought that I failed but a man stood up who is at the back.
" I agree with you. We should united for a long time ago not with just our words but by our actions." He said. After him. Most of the Clave started to stand up. Not everyone but that was enough. Finally Jia stood up.
" I can see that what we decided but to vote who is with Simon and Jace?" She asked and many people raised there hands.
" Okay then. We will find a strategy and not to go to a war. For now. The meeting will continue tomorrow." She said. Everyone was leaving. Someone of them looked at us with disgust. But most of them smiled at us. Someone of them even shake our hands. Jia waited everyone to go. Then she came.
" I was worried when Magnus and Alec didn't showed up but you speak very well Simon. Thank you for that. They won't listen to me but they listened to you. Did Magnus tell you this?" She asked.
" Someone of them but mostly it is my own words." I said and it was true.
" Thanks again. But can you tell me what happened?" She said. I looked at Jace. But he didn't tell anything so I did. I told about Max was kidnapped but I didn't tell her Clary. We have enough problem. I didn't want them to look for her.
"Oh! Is there anything we can do to help them?" She said. She is really helpful for a Consul.
" Just don't tell anyone." I said. I am not sure that Alec and Magnus would want that. I think that they don't.
" Of course but keep me updating. And also I am waiting for you tomorrow. You can go to Herondales house if you want." She said. But Helen interrupted.
" They can stay with us. My siblings is a big fan of you two." Helen said and I was shocked. I could guess that Jace has fans but me?
" Me?" I asked.
" Yes. You are one of my brother Ty's favorite character after Sherlock Holmes." She said. Yeah, why not. I didn't want to stay with Jace anyway.
" Sure. I want that." I said.
" Okay. I need to go. I'll see you later" Jia said and left. Then she looked to Jace.
