Shadowhunters Season 4

The Dinner

I helped Helen to prepare the dinner. We were cooking quietly. I couldn't handle that silence so I started a conversation.

'' Are you sure you and Magnus can get the heart without the Clave's knowledge?'' I asked her.

'' I am. They won't care about the bodies so they won't find out that the heart was gone. Can you pass the salt?'' I passed the salt and thought about what she said. Their bodies meant nothing to them as they are peace of garbage.

'' How many siblings do you have?'' I asked since with the children in all ages and heights running around I couldn't tell which was who.

'' Six but Emma is staying with us. Her parents died during Jonathan's attack.'' She responded. They were just little kids and they had nobody except each other.

'' Is she going to stay with you?'' I asked. Maybe, she would go to the Academy.

'' As long as she wants, I'll look after her too. She is a sister to me. We were living at the Los Angeles Institute together.'' She said sadly.

'' But the Clave and the Consul can change their mind and take her away from us while we aren't her family by blood. And she doesn't have any family members left. They will take her to the Academy. But, I won't let them.'' She added. Her voice said it all. I could understand that Emma meant a lot to her without looking at her.

'' You real love her. Don't you?'' I said.

'' I do. She means a lot to all of us. Mostly Jules. That two never spend any time apart.'' She said. When she turned the oven off.

'' Meat is ready. I'll put it in plate. (She showed me the bowls.) You can put the soup their.'' She said. We were setting the table when Julian came.

'' Is dinner ready? I am hungry.'' He said. Helen knelled in front of him.

'' Yes, Jules. Can you find Jace and Emma, please? I am sure that they both are in the training room.'' She said and Julian nodded and ran to the hall.

'' I'll call the others. Can you stay here?'' She asked. I said yes. So she went to the rooms. I waited for couple of minutes then walked in the dinning room. I looked at the photos on the wall. Some of them are really old. They are probably Blackthorns. I saw Helen and her siblings in the last photo. A man and his pregnant wife. Man was holding a little girl. Two little kids (One boy and one girl.) holding Helen's hand. Next to Helen, I could see Mark and Julian. They were young but I can recognize them. I was still looking at it when Jace, Emma and Julian entered. They sat on chairs without saying anything. But, they didn't start. I looked at them and smiled. They smiled too. Except Jace. He was looking at his hands so I looked too. He probably drew an Iratze but I could see that he broke them. I should have known that he would do such a thing. After, Helen, Mark and Aline entered with three kids and a baby. They all sat down. We were 10 people in the room. We all looked at Helen.

'' You can start.'' She said and we started to eat. I am sure that the children are much more noisy than they are now. They seemed that they were really tired. So I didn't want to make anyone more tired with my questions so I ate silently. But, Mark talked.

'' Did you do what you had to do?'' He asked. They didn't want to their siblings to know probably. That was a good idea.

'' I did but I'll go there again. These two days will be busy for me.'' She said.

'' Why do you have to go, Helen?'' The girl with brown hair asked.

'' I have to do very important things, Liv. But it will only take two days.'' Helen answered. It must be really hard for her. Not telling anything...

'' Are we ever going back home?'' Julian asked.

'' They are building the home again, Jules. It isn't in a very good shape right now.'' Aline answered this time.

'' Will it take a long time to fix it?'' He asked.

'' I hope not. But they will fix as soon as possible. So don't worry.'' Aline continued.

'' Okay.'' Julian responded before returning back to eat.

'' Who are these people?'' The boy asked who was next to Liv. And, he was talking about me and Jace.

'' They are friends of mine, Ty.'' Helen answered.

'' I never saw them but they look familiar.'' Ty said. If I wasn't wrong he was the brother of Helen which liked me.

'' You probably heard about them, Ty-Ty. This is Jace and he is Simon. They fought in the War. They are from New York.'' Emma said happily. She really seemed happy to be with us. I could see that she would become very good Shadowhunter in her eyes. I could see that sparkle which I saw in Jace before. I hoped Jace would never found out what did I say. 

The kids were looking a us excitedly.

'' We are but our friend helped us too.'' Jace added. He was more humble than he used to be. He probably tired to make up about flipping over before.

'' Cool!'' Liv said. We continued eating until the dinner was over. We put our plates in the kitchen.

'' I was expecting that they would freak out when they found about you but they are too tired.'' Helen said when I was washing my plate.

'' They are so sweet thought.'' I said when I put the plate in it's place.

'' They are when they are tired. Other than night they are really noisy.'' She said.

'' Probably.'' I answered.

'' Do you want me to show your room?'' Helen asked.

'' It would be nice.'' I said because I was as tired as they were. Portaling wasn't really good to me.

'' Follow me!'' She said. I followed her to the upstairs. She stopped in front of a room.

'' Here it is.'' She showed. I said thanks and she nodded happily. I went in the room but I wasn't expecting to see...

I could only write after school so it took much longer than I planned but I am very delighted with the result and if any of you are interested I am planning to publish it online but not so sure if I will use wattpad.
