Baekho tightened his grip on his sword. They were going to do this, weren't they? Full army or not. He could already tell what the outcome was but he wasn't going to look like a coward in front of Minhyun now. At one point, he was happy he got to see the other's face. He didn't seem to have lost any weight yet. But at another point, he was worried about Minhyun having so little armor again. He could get injured badly especially since he seemed to be heading to the front.

Breathe, Baekho. This wasn't the end. He prepared himself as he watched Minhyun's sister commanded the fleet to advance. Baekho got ready for their own command, knowing better than to set off on his own.

"Charge!" The loud voice echoed the area as both sides ran towards each other. Swords, spears and shields came into contact, creating resounding noises. The voice of people yelling filled the air from agony cries to victory calls. Baekho did his best not to kill anyone that came his way, carefully deflecting them and knocking them out with the hilt of his sword. Those who recognized him purposely avoided him too.

The black knights took down a lot of the White knights at a frightening speed with sheer numbers. Baekho had to protect a few of them and pulled them back onto their feet. He couldn't give any words of encouragement when he knew a losing battle. He had stand alone before and knew just what the other was capable of.

"Stick together!" He heard the head knight yell but it was difficult when the black Knights charged through their defenses. It was like they were prepared to die for whatever reason it was. Baekho didn't think it was for the kingdom but probably out of sheer fear towards the king and his daughter. He whipped around, noticing Minhyun riding his horse around and making sure not to stomp on anyone.

He wanted to run over to the other but couldn't since they were in formation. He turned around and somehow his eyes settled on an archer that was quite far from the others. His eyes squinted in suspicion. He couldn't recognize the archer from anywhere and his group didn't have any archers but he was taking aim.

"Archer!" He heard himself yell. As soon as he did, they moved their shields upwards to block the incoming shower of arrows that seemed to appear from the woods. "Shit. They had backup in the forest."

"We are gonna die. There's no backup," Baekho heard one of his knights mutter. Baekho felt sad that they would probably have to give up and surrender to stop their numbers from diminishing any more but he didn't want to give up. Not again.

Blood was all over the grass, dyeing them red. Body pieces were scattered everywhere. Baekho knew they were going to hit their limit at any time now when the knights were starting to surround them.

"Fall back!" The white head knight ordered, taking charge to create a path but the path was blocked by the black knights and a bewildered Minhyun who had somehow found his way there. Baekho wanted to stop them but couldn't as they clashed against one another. Minhyun's horse stumbled and stood up, trying to crush the people who were running towards it. When the horse settled, Baekho wasn't sure why he felt a tight dreadful feeling in his chest. He turned around, looking at Minhyun's sister and father.

"No," Baekho let the word slip from his lips when his eyes fell upon a stray arrow. It flew and hit Minhyun right in the chest. He gasped and didn't even have time to scream as his legs carried him towards the other who fell off the horse.

The other white knights took the chance to bail as quickly as they could over the commotion. Baekho slid onto his knees, clutching Minhyun in his arms and protecting him from the barraging crowd. He looked down at the other's bleeding chest and shallow breathing.

"Minhyun? Minhyun, please. Talk to me?" He whimpered, removing his helmet and touching the other's cold skin. Minhyun blinked and seemed to smile.

"Baek...Ho?"

"Yes. Yes it's me. Please. You're alright." He started crying even though he didn't want to. He didn't want to lose Minhyun but the other was already slipping from his grasp.

"I feel... cold," he muttered in a soft tone as he touched Baekho's face. "You're so.. warm."

"Minhyun, please." He held the other's hand. Minhyun's smile was slowly fading as his eyes flickered.

"I... I love you," he said and that made Baekho broke down, clutching onto Minhyun tightly and crying as he felt the body he was holding on to grew limp.

"No! Minhyun! I love you too so please. Please come back. Don't go!" He heard the sound of hooves approaching him and he snapped his head back. He saw the king hop down from his horse, removing his sword from its scabbard and pointing it at Baekho. "You!"

Baekho couldn't find any words to say but his screams found their way out as he grabbed his sword, placed Minhyun down gently and charged at the king. He screamed as he tried to hit the other with the intent to kill but all his moves were deflected. It was almost like he was hitting nothing but air. This was the difference they had in power, in skill and in experience.

"You killed him!" Baekho yelled, noticing the king's expression change for the first time. It turned into a frown and before he realised it, the king had done the same move Minhyun did before. Step close enough and one hit to the back of the neck. He stumbled forward onto the ground, choking on air but managed to use his sword to support him. He breathed in sharply even though it hurt his lungs. The king seemed amused that Baekho hadn't fallen.

"Hhh... you planned all this," he said in a scratchy tone that almost didn't sound like him anymore. Baekho swung again but his legs were giving out and he found himself falling until he was sprawled on the ground. He wheezed and noticed Minhyun a few feet away. He started crawling towards him. If he was going to die, at least let him be beside Minhyun.

But that wish didn't last long as someone's foot came down harshly onto his stretched out hand. He let out a cry and glanced up, shivering at the sight of Minhyun's sister's smirk.

"So you're the lucky one."

"Go pick your brother up. We are leaving," the king spoke and the sister frowned.

"Can't we play with him more?"

"Go, I say."

"Yes, father."

"No... Don't take him," Baekho groaned but the king kicked him, making him roll onto his back. Baekho panted heavily as he watched the king lifted his sword above him. He closed his eyes and breathed in.

I love you, Minhyun.
