Zoe's POV

After we finished our drinks, we made our way to the pier. The cold winter air numbed my face as I clung onto myself for warmth. Luckily, the cafe we went to was only a street or two away from the pier so we weren't walking too long.

It took us about 5 minutes to get there, where Marcus and Alfie were waiting. It was the first time I'd properly met Alfie, but I must admit he definitely made me blush.

Alfie's POV

The girls arrived a couple of minutes after us. Marcus' teeth were chattering like mad so he was delighted when they appeared behind the crowd.

For some reason, when Zoe said 'hi', I felt like we'd known each other for years, like we had some deep connection. I feel like I blushed a little in her presence. Well, I mean she's beautiful, but we've never spoken before or anything.

I suggested to Marcus that we could have a walk around, see if there were and shops we could go in. So the six of us wandered down the busy street, trying to stay together.

Zoe's POV

I saw him blush. When I went to say hello, his cheeks flushed the colour of roses. Whether it was the cold, I don't know. Or could he sense my heartbeat getting faster and faster as I gazed into his glistening eyes? I definitely felt a connection. But for some reason, I wanted to avoid him all day.

The breeze picked up whilst we strolled down the street. The excitement in the air was amazing, even though the temperature must've been in the low single figures. Marcus and Alfie decided to lob stones across the street, seeing who could hit the post box first without killing anybody in the process. They were being their normal annoying selves.

Once we'd spent a good two hours together, the cold finally got to us badly - none of us could stop shivering due to a snow blizzard that seemed to follow us everywhere. Tanya had to go back home, since some of the trains were getting delayed because of the snow. So she caught the bus to the station. Marcus and Niomi, who were both equally as freezing, drove to their house, and Gabby needed to do lots of editing so she went too.

Just me and Alfie were left.

"Sooo, how are you getting back?" I asked. Really, I wanted me and him to stay for a bit, and maybe he could come back to mine...

"Not, sure, I'm quite hungry. Fancy going to that restaurant down there?"

My heart did somersaults inside my chest. We'd  barely known each other two hours, and we'd barely spoken, and he was practically asking me on a date.

"Sure," I said, trying to hide the smile that was building up inside me.

Alfie's POV

I could barley contain my feelings when she said she'd join me for dinner. Did this mean she had the same feelings for me as I did for her? I hoped so. But I was also scared that she didn't like me that and she thought I was asking her on a date. For some reason, I hoped not.

I was excited all the same.
