Chapter 10: Bad Stuff in Beach City

I walked around Beach City later that day. Exploring the location some more. I saw this large cliff that seemed to be facing to the whole city. I decided to walk my way there. I saw this pizza place on my way there and saw that kid Sour Cream and some other kids his age. I walked by until someone called me over. "Hey, dude." Sour Cream yelled motioning me over. I walked to see what was up. "Look guys this is the guy that saved me from a robber." He said in his same monotone voice but seemed to have a happy feel to it. "Wow, that's amazing. I'm Jenny." Said a girl with him. She was about Sour Cream's height, dark skin and had a jacket with shorts. "That's cool. My name's Buck." Said this other guy. He had tanned skin, he wore sunglasses, a jacket as well, and some jeans. "It was really nothing. Just needed to help out you know." I said. "Spoken like a true hero," Buck said. "Wait what is your name anyway?" Asked Sour Cream. "Derek," I said with a slight grin.

After talking I walked where I was heading until I spotted some guys with a van near the top. I walked slowly. I didn't have my costume but I kept my mask handy. I put it on as I walked to the top of the cliff. "So what does Nightshadow want with all this gem tech we're getting?" Said a woman goon. "I don't know but I'm sure she knows what she is doing. Plus she is out of jail and those stupid cops and guards don't know a thing." Said the guy goon. A wave of rage came over me hearing them talk. What is gem tech? I went slower up to their location. It was getting dark so it made it easier to sneak around. They were waiting for someone and so I waited as well. Then a guy in a sports car drove up. He walked out wearing a typical rich kid looking for clothes. Even had a scarf around his neck. "I got the tech, you got the money?" Asked the rich guy. "Yeah, we got it here." The woman goon handed him a duffle bag. He looked inside and nodded. "Here you are, the gem tech." The rich guy said. I walked up closer. I walked up closer but accidentally fell kicking a rock in their direction. The cover is blown.

"Hey who the heck is that?" Asked the rich guy. "Doesn't matter, get out of here we'll take care of them." Said the woman goon. The rich guy hopped in his sports car and drove off. I place my feet firm and was ready to fight. The guy goon had a knife on him. He slashed at me with it but I dodged. Unexpectedly the woman goon kicks me from behind. I fell but swept her legs and kicked the guy goon in the stomach. I took the knife from his hands and jabbed it into the woman's leg. "Owww!" She yelled. I then turned to see the guy goon punch me clean across my face. The woman then did the same. I was dizzy but kept my stance. I then threw the knife over the cliff and ran towards the guy goon. I tackled him and continued to punch him in his face and ribcage. The woman put me in a choke hold but I pulled over me. I twisted her arm. Crack! I then walked over to the guy that seemed too beat up to stand. It was time to ask questions.

I inspected the crate and bag the rich guy gave them. The two goons were still on the ground. I opened the crate to see a cannon and in the bag was some yellow looking rods. I pushed a button and it ignited with electricity. Seemed to be some sort of taser. I grew angry and walked up to the goons. I put my foot on the guy goon's neck and lifted the woman by her collar. "Tell me why Nightshadow needs this tech." I angrily demanded. "Yeah, I'm not telling you nothing." Said the woman goon. I threw a punch near her face, denting the van a little. "I won't ask again," I said. "Look man take it easy." Said the guy goon. I walked back to him to punch him in the face the lifted him throwing him towards the van. I walked over to the duffle bag with the taser guns. I activated one. The device illuminated the night. I poked the guy with it. "AHHH!" He screamed. I smacked him with it. "This is your final warning before I start getting serious," I said threatening. "Look, man, all we know is that she wants the tech to have a fighting chance against some rivals in Empire City. They got some gems on their sides." Said the guy goon.

I looked at him. I couldn't believe that there were gems actually fighting humans in Empire City. I looked up at the night sky and the city below. It was beautiful. Too bad it was ruined with my feelings still filling me with rage and confusion. I point the taser now at the woman. "Who was that guy that just sold you this tech?" I asked. She looked down. "His name is Kevin." She said. I tied up the goons with the seat belts then called the police. I took one of the tasers and left the cannon. I was going to have a talk with Steven.
