A metal arm can only last so long,in Bucky's case it lasted just long enough to survive him and Steve's little slap fight with Tony and then it kinda started malfunctioning.When T'Challa brought Bucky back to Wakanda he recruited me to help Shuri build his new arm.I sighed as I ran my fingers threw my hair"you know how long it's gonna take this furnace to melt this vibranium" I said as she nodded "a couple of hours"she said causing me to groan "atleast we can work on the design"I said rolling out some blueprint paper.I bit the tip of the pencil as I glanced at his old arm,"should he put the star on it so he can match Steve"Shuri asked as I shook my head no "that was Hydra's mark on him I said "we need to make sure the arm can compress and open like the last on,so make sure each panel of material can open and close when needed" I explained."I've got it" she said grabbing the pencil from my hand "we'll run gold plated vibranium over the area with exposed wires,now all we have to do is figure out how to attach it to the shoulder"she said crossing her arms.I know "we can put a magnetic vibranium plate in his arm so the prosthetic can attach to it securely but also can be removed when needed" I said as Shuri highfived me."Whats is the cause for celebration" T'Challa asked as he walked in "we have everything planned out for Bucky's new arm" Shuri said grinning as I stood up "yes but I need him dethawed"I explained as he gave me an unsure look "we need to place a magnetic vibration disk in his shoulder so his arm will actually stick to him and this is the only way"I explained as he nodded "we'll have him ready for you tomorrow morning" T'Challa said before leaving us to work. *******************************************
I pulled my medical mask off as I made my way to the room that Steve was waiting in."Well everything went smoothly"I said as Steve nodded standing up."Once he is awake and stable we can try putting the prosthetic on until then all we can do is wait"I said."Thank you so much for everything"he said as I smiled "it's my jobs Rogers but I appreciate it"I said before making my way back to Bucky's room.I picked up his chart as I saw him slowly start to move groaning as he began thrashing around."Bucky it's ok" I said as I rushed to his side trying to hold him down before he shot up slamming me against the wall by my neck."Bucky please let go"I whimpered as he growled.I kicked him in the stomach throwing him off balance long enough for me to escape his grasp,I quickly hit the assist button on the wall before Bucky threw a punch at me.I grunted as I dodged it just before T'Challa came threw he door pouncing on Bucky pinning him to the floor."Easy don't pull out his stitches T'Challa"I said as I injected Bucky with a relaxer,he slowly relaxed causing T'Challa to hesitantly let him go before we placed him back on the bed."Your okay Bucky"I said a I pushed some of his hair out of his face."Do you know where you are?"I asked as he nodded "I do know but for a moment I thought you were Hydra" he said as he breath evened out."As soon as you regain you composure we'll continue" I said as I went to get his new prosthetic. *******************************************
Bucky sat infront of me as I showed him his new prosthetic,he took his time to look over every detail of it before running his fingers across the cold metal like material."Are you ready"I asked as I glanced up at him."As ready as I will ever be"he replied sitting up straighter.I lined the prosthetic up to the magnetic before connecting them in place as I pressed the palm of the hand with my finger tips activating the sensors as he blushed."Go ahead Barnes move it around and tell me how it feels" I said as I crossed my arms across my chest.He slowly began moving his arm,flexing his hand and rotating his shoulder before a small smile broke out on his face."Its amazing thank you"he said as I smiled,"just doing my job but I am glad you like it"I said as I closed the lid of the case we had been carrying the prosthetic in."Steve's here do you want me to let him in?"I asked as I made my way out the door glancing over my shoulder."Yes please"he said as his eyes filled with happiness. *******************************************
Exactly a week after fixing Bucky's arm Thanos showed up.I couldn't believe what I was hearing as Steve explained the situation to us,asking us for all the help we could give him because none of us were sure of what Thanos could do.I stood next to the window as Shuri explained how she was going to remove the stone from Vision as I saw something come falling from the sky."Steve you're gonna wanna see this"I said as he walked over to the window."Their here"he said as he turned to T'Challa."We will hold them off for as long as we can but in the meantime get that stone out of Visions head"T'Challa said as Shuri nodded."Lets go start a war"Steve said.Everyone filed out of the room as I grabbed Shuri's shoulders,"get the stone,destroy it,and then evacuate you hear me,get out safely"I said she nodded as she wrapped her arms around me hugging me "good luck" she whispered as I disappeared down the hallway. *******************************************
I stood next to Bucky my gun at the ready as aliens crashed against the forcefields,"you okay"he asked looking down at me as I took a deep breath."Those forcefields can only hold back so much before they shatter"I said as T'Challa glanced over at me."You know it's true T'Challa,your gonna have to open the forcefield in order to keep them from surrounding us"I said as he nodded."Are you ready for them" T'Challa asked"Hey it's your funeral" I smirked as he nodded as we all took our stances as the forcefield split open."Stay close and stay behind me"Bucky said as we advanced forward causing me to laugh"what do I look like to you a damsel in distress"I said as I shot an alien in the head."No but I don't know what I would do if I lost you"he shouted over the gun fire.I let out a loud gasp as an alien knocked me to the ground snarling at me face before it screamed out collapsing to my side as I looked up to see Bucky holding a knife in his hand that was covered in alien guts.I grabbed his hand as he pulled me up wrapping his arms around me kissing my head,"please watch yourself"he mumbled as I nodded before we heard yelling "we've got more incoming"Steve growled. *******************************************
I gasped for air squeezing my eyes closed as Thanos's hand wrapped around my throat,"Pathetic human it is a shame you have to waste so much spirit on such a lose cause trying to save your people"he said as he tossed me into a tree.I winced as I fell to the ground,my vision blurry as I felt someone kneel next to me as I shook my head clearing my vision."Hey your okay I got you"Bucky said as I evened my breathing out.I looked up into his blue eyes as he pushed a piece of hair behind my ear.He licked his lips before pressing them against mine,I slowly kissed back getting lost in the moment as butterfly fluttered around my stomach,he gently grabbed the back of my neck deepen the kiss before I felt his lips dissolve from mine.I gasped as I opened my eyes in time to see him disappear with the rush of the wind blowing him away as tears ran down my face.
