Part // VII
Sammy’s POV
The car ride was silent besides the GPS beeps and Nate’s whispers to me. Claire and Emma looked a little worried as we kept driving through Cincinnati at night. Nate and I planned a little picnic thanks to one of the tour managers who helped set it up while we were finishing up the concert.
We pulled into the parking lot near the gazebo as I was told to do. The tour manager, Angela, had the park lit up everywhere and the gazebo had a nice look to it. It was perfect for our first date.
We stepped out of the car and opened the doors for our dates. Claire looked around before moving away enough to shut the door. She was in awe; just amazed at the beauty of the park. All I could focus on was her smile.
“We ready?” I held my hand out to her to walk her to our dinner spot. Her smile grew bigger as we walked in. My buddy, Shawn, was on the gazebo’s stage singing covers of Ed Sheeran and little love songs.
I’ll never forget the look on her face. I could tell she was happy, which is all I wanted. I didn’t know Shawn was going to be here considering he had plans with Johnson and Gilinsky tonight, but man, I really owe him one.
I put my arm around her waist as she stood there in shock. Her smile growing bigger each minute. She looked up at me, her eyes sparkling in the dim lights.
“Dance with me?” Sam, you don’t dance. What are you doing? It’s not time to scare her away…
Claire nodded as I took her into my arms and we swayed to the beat of Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran.
Kiss me like you wanna be loved, you wanna be loved, you wanna be loved
This feels like falling in love, falling in love
We’re falling in love
I pulled her in closer. The feeling she gave me just holding her was indescribable. I’ve had girls in the past, but never anyone like her. I still can’t figure out what was different about her. I kissed her for the second time tonight but this time it was passionate; this time I kissed her like I meant it.
