Claire's POV
After I calmed down, Scott had talked me into going to talk to Sam one last time.
As I walked downstairs, I saw Sam sitting on the couch on his phone. His bags were by the front door and he had his shoes on. He looked up from his phone, and even from the stairs, I could see how red and swollen his eyes were from crying. I sat down next to him, not saying a word. We connected our stares as I saw more tears forming in his eyes. He looked away immediately, hovering his head over his knees and resting his head in his hands.
I knew he didn't mean what he did. But do I forgive the love of my life, the guy who cheated on me? Do I forgive the guy who gave up drinking just so I wouldn't leave him? Do I forgive the guy who changed my life around?
Do I forgive the guy who tore my heart apart? Do I forgive the guy who promised he wouldn't hurt me like Tyler did?
Do I stay or do I go?
