Emma's POV
I was at a loss for words. I brought Claire to Omaha to visit Sammy to help her realize that he really does love her like Nate has told me every single time we talk about them.
Yet here we were... Nate and I in shock as much as Claire.
I'm not surprised she ran out of the house. I honestly don't blame her. She came here in the mindset that Sammy didn't love her like he used to and we come in to see proof of that.
Emma: Please tell me you left with Mack.
No reply.
Emma: Claire, I just want to know you're okay. Please talk to me.
Again, she didn't reply. I decided to text Mack.
Emma: Please tell me you have Claire.
Mack: Yes I do. I'm taking her to my house. If you need her, text me. She threw her phone in the backseat and said she can't even look at it.
I put my phone back in my pocket.
"Sam, Nate, Whore... Yeah, uh we all need to have a talk. Right now."
They all arranged themselves around Sam's living room. Sam had his head in his hands, not once looking up.
"Sam, please tell me what the hell was happening up to the second we got here."
"I swear it wasn't what it looked like."
I was furious at this point, "Not what it looked like? Because I'm pretty freaking sure it looked like you were cheating on Claire... Again! Yeah, I know that wasn't the first time. Does Claire know that? No. I kept my secret, but the same damn whore? Do you understand how Claire has felt the past few months? She came to Omaha to surprise you in hopes her feelings of you not loving her the same would go away. This was all Nate and I's idea to help your relationship. You basically just gave Claire proof that you don't love her!"
Everyone looked so shocked.
"Emma, baby... Stop yelling. Breathe, okay?" Nate stood up and made his way over to me, making me stop the pacing back and forth. He tried to wrap his arms around my waist but I wouldn't let him.
"Nate, don't even try right now. You knew we were on our way but you didn't even stop them from making out!"
"I didn't come downstairs until I saw Mack in the driveway. You saw me walking down when you walked in!"
"Sammy, look at me," I sat down in front of his legs, trying to keep my voice from raising.
He took his head out of his hands, exposing his tear stained cheeks.
"Look in me the eyes and tell me if this whore is worth losing Claire over."
"I have a name, you little bitch," she flipped her hair over exposing even more curls. She looked disgusted.
"Excuse me, did I ask you for your input? No. Go back to Whore Island and make yourself a cup of coffee. I can smell the liquor from here. I would so hit you for Claire right now but I'm afraid your makeup will come off in chunks."
I switched my attention back on Sam, who was shaking his head, "I can't lose her. I just can't... I can't lose her, Emma."
"Let's just hope she isn't buying her plane ticket back to Cincinnati right now."
I grabbed my purse and headed out of the door. I had been to Omaha many times before so finding my way to Mack's house wasn't challenging at all.
I knocked on the door. Mack's brother opened the door.
"You're pretty, so you must be here to get your friend. They're all in the basement."
I nodded and smiled as I tried to make my way quickly to his basement.
"Claire, Mack!"
This was not a sight I expected to see.
