Claire's POV

I still had no idea where we were going.

Sam's car had been recently washed versus what it looked like last night. Sam almost never washed his car unless I got on him for it being outrageously dirty.

His GPS was already programmed to the location but he wouldn't let me know.

Sam and I drove hand in hand. He respected me and my body which was something I was always nervous about, knowing his past with girls. If I was in a dress, he would hold my hand. If I was wearing pants, he would either hold my hand or have his hand on my thigh. No matter what, he kept his hand on my middle to lower thigh, and I found it respectful. He knew his boundaries with me without us ever talking about them.

I must've dosed off because before I knew it, his hand was on my waist trying to shake me. The sun was starting to set but it was definitely beautiful out.

I noticed Sam had changed out of his shirt and tie and was wearing what looked like swim trunks and an RVCA shirt that he wears all the time.

Well, how long was I asleep to where he had changed his clothes completely without me waking up? Where did these clothes even come from?

"Well hello, sunshine. Nice nap?"

"Where did your clothes come from?"

"Well, that's why I woke you up. Welcome to your surprise. I have your bikini in the back. go behind to the trunk and change into it. I have one of my tshirts in the back if you wanna cover up until we get to our surprise spot. We're gonna have to hike a little to your surprise."

Sam went to the front of the car and had his back towards me. He sat on the hood as I quickly changed into my black and gold bikini and slipped on his old VANS tshirt. I slipped my sandals back on and met him in front of the car.

"I swear you always look so damn cute in my shirts," he smiled, this time he was the one blushing.

"You're blushing, babe," I said, mocking his voice.

He pulled me in and kissed me gently, "I say we get to your surprise as soon as possible before it gets too dark. Get on my back. I'm not letting you hike on these rocks in sandals."

He gave me a piggyback ride all the way through the rocks and back into this cave type area. The cave was open and under a cliff but there was a beautiful waterfall right in front of it. He set me down as he threw his tshirt off to the side of the cave and took his shirt off of me. He picked me up as quick as he could and threw both of us into the water.

When we both caught our breath above water, I wrapped my legs around his waist for support since I'm not that great of a swimmer. He hooked his arms around me as mine snaked their way around his neck, kissing his lips, rather passionately.

"I don't think you know how many surprises I have for you tonight," he smiled again as it playfully hit his shoulder.

"I thought we agreed on no more surprises."

"But there's no fun if I can't spoil you."

We played in the water for a bit longer. The sunset had dissipated and the only lights we had were the stars and a few candles he had stashed away here, along with towels to dry off with and a picnic basket.

"I think you should get your food first. I brought your favorite," His smile was radiating again. I knew he was up to something.

I reached in and felt a box. I pulled it out, not knowing what it even was. I realized my name was written on the box.

I looked at Sam whose smile was stretching farther on his face.

"Open it."

Inside the box was this beautiful necklace. I had never seen anything like it before. It had a round pendant with little diamonds lining its every feature.

"Sammy, you know you don't have to buy me anything." I looked him in the eyes, hopefully showing how stunned and thankful I was. His smile showed he knew.

"Yes I do," he grabbed my hand and pulled me up so we were standing with his hands on my waist, "baby, these last four months have really taught me so much. You showed me what it's like to even be happy; to want to like someone as much as I do myself. You taught me that there's more to life than a hook up and run. I never wanted only sex with you, and I couldn't figure out why I had butterflies - I mean moths - when I first saw you. It was like it was only us in that room. I made the best decision of my life to ask you to come back stage with us. I didn't only make myself happy, I made three other people. It's such a great feeling knowing I have you. But I don't exactly have you..."

He looked down at his feet, took a deep breath and made his way back to my gaze, "Claire Rachel Alverson, will you do me the honors to FINALLY call you my girlfriend?"
