Claire's POV

My head was spinning, heart racing. There's no way Sam could expect me to just forgive him. This was technically the second time he's cheated, although the first time with Alyssa wasn't exactly his fault.

"Please, just go back to sleep and we can talk about this when you wake up," he faked a smile and looked down at his hands.

"I don't think you realize I won't be able to sleep."

"No, No. Stop. Claire, I..."

"I don't know how you expect me to get over this, Sam."

"I don't. I really don't."

I looked him dead in the eyes, pain shooting through like lasers.

We sat in silence for a few minutes. Neither of us could bare what we knew was coming.

After what seemed like hours, Sam then broke the silence, "I'll start packing my bags back up."

He went to get up as I grabbed his wrist gently out of reflex.

"Sam."

"I don't even think I can look at you anymore, Claire. I can see the heartbreak through your face. I haven't seen it since you were in the hospital from Tyler. Knowing I caused it this time... I just can't look at you," he rubbed his face harshly before looking at me with no emotions.

I let his wrist go and he walked straight out of the room.

I laid on the bed, hugging my knees to my chest. I tried to stop the screams boiling in my throat but they couldn't be stopped.

Sam and Scott both ran into my room after no longer than a minute.

Scott got on his knees at the side of my bed while Sam stood in the middle of the room, "Claire, breathe. Please, just breathe." He repeated these words while brushing the hair out of my face.

I shook my head signaling i understood, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't do as he said.

I looked at Sam who had two miniature waterfalls falling down his face. Once we made eye contact, he left the room quickly, slamming the door behind him.

"Ignore him. Focus on yourself. He came down and told me everything that happened up here. I know you're hurting."

I was more than hurt. I was more than heartbroken. I was more than alone in a room of more than just me.
