Oof I haven't updated in so long and this ones kind of bad. I hope you like it though.
Walking into the living room all eyes landed on you, the ones of your friends and family. You had recently told them you were moving away to somewhere new and today was the day.
You smiled at your best friend and looked down. Not wanting to make eye contact with one person in particular, Millie. Your girlfriend had been the most upset when you told her you were leaving, crying herself to sleep in your arms, waking up every couple of hours from nightmares and refusing to let go of you. Watching how she reacted was enough to make you want to stay.. but you couldn't.
Your mum came up to you and pulled you into a hug, telling you how much she'll miss you and that she loves you. Your brother and sister joining in the hug, slightly crying. You felt guilty but you needed the change, you always felt so trapped in the place you grew up. Stuck between bad memories and feeling like you can't leave so you don't upset anyone, it's been a battle in your head for years and you finally decided to just do it.
You pulled away from the group hug and looked at Millie, she had tears streaming down her face that she was attempting to wipe away with the hoodie she stole from you. You walked up to her and wrapped your arms around her, not saying a word.
The room cleared out and just you and Millie were left in there, hugging each other while the both of you cried.
"please don't be sad, we're strong we can do it" you reassured.
"I don't know if I'm strong enough, I'm never going to see you, be around you, feel your hugs and kisses.. I don't know how I'm going to do it Y/N"
"I know you can, you're one of the strongest people I know and it's not that you won't ever see me, I can come back here and you can come see me whenever you want. I'm only a 2 hour flight away, I'll even pay for you to come whenever you want to"
There was a long silence before Millie spoke up again.
"can't I just come with you..?"
You pulled away and looked at her. The idea had never crossed your mind, she was a year younger than you and was still in eduction.
"you have so much here Millie and I'd never want to get in the way of that, I've told you this, but of course I'd love for you to come with me. There's nothing I'd want more"
You felt her nod into your shoulder before she pulled away.
"Come to my house with me.. let's talk to my parents together, they love you as their own and I'm sure they'd be okay with it"
You nodded and grabbed her hand, telling someone what was happening before going outside into your car. You looked at Millie and smiled.
Looks like it's the start of a new chapter.. for both of you.
