The fairy nodded her little head. So this was the actual Tinkerbell standing in front of Adrianna, sparkling and real. Adrianna felt dizzy just sitting on the ground in awe. She could not believe this. A battle was going on in her head. One side of her head said that this wasn't real, that she was only hallucinating because of dehydration. But the other side was in total fangirl mode. Oh my god, Tinkerbell is real. Magic is real. The latter won. Adrianna just felt so happy inside. Her whole world changed. She had always kind of believed there was magic, but this was just surreal.
" I.. I.. I don't know what to say. It's an honour to meet you Tinkerbell." Adrianna had no idea how to speak to a fairy. Jesus, I sound like an complete idiot. Tinkerbell just smiled and giggled without a sound, how that even was possible. Then she remembered from the movie that Tinkerbell couldn't speak. It was definitely a good thing she had seen the Peter Pan movie several times. Well Tinkerbell could speak, but only other fairies could hear and understand.
Tinkerbell suddenly started gesturing with her hands. She flew up and pointed at her smile and then her head. "You want me to happy?" Adrianna asked with an unsure voice, even if she knew she wouldn't get a verbal answer. Tinkerbell shook her head. She pointed at her head again with a smile and then she did a loop in the air.
"You want me to fly! I think... I need to think happy thoughts to fly! Of course!" Adrianna blurted excited. She was interpreting a fairy and it felt unbelievable. Tinkerbell made some kind of happy noise and did several loops. Adrianna laughed. Then she stood and breathed and tried to focus. Okay, I'm going to fly. Here we go. She tried to come up with a happy feeling, which she of course got from swimming. She closed her eyes and clung on to the happy feeling. It felt crazy to be doing this. Nothing happened. She opened one of her eyes and looked embarrassingly at Tinkerbell. She looked amused. This was probably not the first time she taught someone to fly.
Tinkerbell made a gesture that Adrianna should continue trying. But this time, Tinkerbell flew above Adrianna's head and sprinkled over her- what Adrianna assumed was- fairy dust. Adrianna closed her eyes again and held on to the happy feeling, so that her whole body flowed over with happiness. And then, she felt herself getting lighter, her feet lifting off the ground. "Tinkerbell, I'm flying! Look at me, I'm flying!" Adrianna couldn't hold back her excitement. A few happy tears made their way down her chin as she flew higher up in the air. Her hair flew in the wind and now all the last of her miserable feelings from that morning was gone.
Just as she was about to reach the tree crowns, she felt something grabbing one of her fingers. It was Tinkerbell. "What is it?" Tinkerbell just shook her head, pointed down and forward. Tinkerbell and Adrianna flew side by side just under the tree crowns. I can't believe I'm flying. This is amazing. I never want this to end.
Soon you could see the lake. As they got close to the waterline, Tinkerbell pointed down and started landing. Adrianna felt a little unsure what to do if you wanted to land, so she ended up falling down the last bit and landing with a thud. Tinkerbell giggled soundlessly.
But then she put on a more serious face. She pointed at Adrianna's feet and then to the water. "Umm do you want me to go swimming?" Tinkerbell shook her head. She drew some kind of pyramid in the air with her finger and pointed at my feet. Adrianna didn't understand anything. She just gave Tinkerbell a confused look. Tinkerbell looked frustrated. She pointed at the water, put her hands together and made them swim like a fish. "Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're trying to say"
Suddenly a loud shout came from not so far away. "Adrianna! Where are you?" It was Lindsey. "Oh no! It's my mum!" Adrianna said with panic in her voice. Tinkerbell looked terrified. She waved to Adrianna as she started to fly way. "No wait! Tinkerbell! Please stay!" but Tinkerbell was already a barley visible spot in the sky.
