*Dream*

I run as fast as my small legs can take me. I had to get away, mum and dad sacrificed it all so I could get away. I couldn't let them down. "Don't let them use you sweety, you're stronger than them" my mummy's words ring clear through my brain. Use me? What for? The mist helps me get up to the roof, it was always there to help me. "It's a gift y/n, a talent, never misuse it" this time it's my dad's words. They were always telling me I was different, special. But I never understood why. I didn't know anyone else my age, they told me it was too dangerous, that the other kids would say I'm a freak.

My parents died three years ago, yet I was still running. I don't really remember them all that well, I just remember the things they told me. I lie on my back on the roof as I hear people run past the building, the voices faded and I realised I was alone. Safe. For now.

*4 years later*

They dragged me underground, kicking and screaming. I wasn't screaming for help, after all nobody could hear me as I got taken to the organisation. I didn't know what it was for. Why I was being taken. A lady named 'Angel Dust' and a man named 'Ajax' had captured me, I had heard them talking about an organisation. The lady, Angel, came up to the weird cage I was in and smiled. "You look sad" she remarked and I glare at her. Young or not, anyone could be intimidating if they used their emotions to their advantage. "Why am I here?" I glare and she chuckles. "Because you've done some unexplainable shit, shit that involves powers. Powers which we can use to enhance other people" she answers chewing on a matchstick. Though I was ten, I understood what she was talking about.

"How can you do that if I don't co-operate?" I challenge. "We won't be using your raw power, we'll be using your blood. It's unreadable so all we can do is test it on people and see what happens" her words haunt me as she starts to walk away. "Why? What have these people done to deserve this?" I demand and she shrugs. "The world's never been nice to me, someone has to pay" she replies coolly. "And to think your name is 'Angel'" I say sarcastically and she turns back to me, visibly agitated by my sass. "One more word out of you and I'll break your stupid neck and take blood from your corpse" she threatened and I stayed silent, but kept a defiant look on my face.

Throughout that year I experienced things I wish I never did and somehow ended up in the same room as sarcastic, witty, Wade Wilson. "How'd you get into this mess, kid?" he asks me, he was tied to a table and I was stuck behind some bars. I didn't have enough strength or control over my powers to free myself. "I'm not a mutant, I'm the one they're taking blood from. What about you?" I ask and he gives me a surprised look. "Originally was an assassin, then got cancer, got desperate and boom, here I am" I could tell his positivity was a way of dealing but Wade had been surprisingly good company for the time he'd been here. I'd watched him get tortured and secretly did all I can with my powers to make him feel less pain after each round of torture.

"Wow, you're awfully cheerful for someone with that tragic backstory" I say and he turns his head to frown. "Well you're awfully depressed for an eleven year old". "Mmm" is all I reply with, he realises his statement wasn't exactly false. "Jesus, less angry Rosie O'Donnell really did a number on you, didn't she?" for once he sounds sincere before he whispers. "I'm stuck with 'Ajax'  you know, like the cleaning brand? Don't let him know but I found out his real name is Francis, what kind of villain name is that?" I laugh at his information and he grins. It goes silent, "I hope I survive, I didn't tell Vanessa where I went" his words are quiet and out of character for him.

Vanessa was his fiance, that much I knew. "I hope you survive too. The world needs people like you" I say softly. "Assassins?" he chuckles to himself humorlessly. "Well the world is overpopulated... But that's not what I was implying" I grin. "I understand, I hope you survive too kid. If by chance we both make it out of this hellhole, try find me, you've proven to be a reliable ally. No matter how young you are" he suggests and I nod. "Of course I will". The dream starts to disappear.

I wake up drenched in sweat. I wasn't a mutant? Then what was I? And why were all these lost memories getting triggered now? Who stopped me from remembering them? The last question had an easy answer. Hydra. I throw the covers off my bed and check the time. The clock read 2:36. Making a mental decision, I carefully exit my room through the door. This time it wasn't to find Tony and complete my mission, it was to find a room. I crept through the halls before finding the room I was looking for, computers filled the space and lots of other equipment. I sit at the closest computer to me after shutting the door carefully, and start looking. I find a program that finds people and click on it. After putting in all the details I know about him, I click search. 'Wade Wilson'.

Results popped up but none of them looked like him. Suddenly a glitchy result appeared, it had some kind of article attached and a portrait that I couldn't see. I click on it and the whole screen goes black. I start to panic, what if I broke something? But before I worry too much, the article reappears but bigger. I read it. 'Murderer on the loose, known as Deadpool' was it's title. I read through the paragraph before frowning, this didn't seem right. I scroll down, the portrait was of a man in a red and black costume, no photos without his mask. Something about this article intrigued me though, but I didn't know what. I look at the last known sighting of him and see it was not long ago in an area in Vancouver. I take a photo of the area and close the program. Quickly, I turn off the computer before exiting the room.

Deadpool? Why did that come up when I searched Wade Wilson? I was so deep in thought that I never noticed a hand reach out and grab me. Not just any hand, a metal hand. Being a master spy, I didn't shout in fright. Instead I spun around to face the person. James Buchanan Barnes. I had met him in Hydra, before he became a mindless assassin. I was only about twelve. I really hoped he didn't remember me, or at least didn't recognise me. "Who are you?" he asks, I pull my arm out of his grip. "I'm new here, training as a recruit" I reply, staying under the shadows of the hallway. "Why are you up so early then?" he questions and I shrug. "Couldn't sleep" the answer was blunt and I start to turn before he stops me. "Do I know you?" the question made me panic but I kept a neutral look on my face.

"I can't say I know you" is my answer but he doesn't accept it. Before I have a chance to leave he pulls me under one of the lights. He barely has to look at me before knowing who I was. "Y/n l/n?" I freeze. Was I that memorable? "I'm sorry?" I feign confusion but I'm aware he hasn't let go of me yet. "Do the others know they're recruiting a Hydra agent?" he questions with a frown. I sigh, there was no point pretending to not know at this point. "Natasha does. Besides, you were a Hydra agent. They recruited you. I should also get a second chance at life" I point out. "Yeah but I was under mind control, you weren't". I glare at him, he used to be friendlier. "I was being tortured by Hydra, so we both have sad Hydra sop stories. Now let me go" he does let me go but gives me a serious look. "I don't trust you" is all he said, then walked away. I glowered as he walked away but went back to my room.

I needed to find this Deadpool person, to see if they were Wade Wilson. Tomorrow night I would track him down. As for now, Bucky Barnes was on my 'avoid' list.
