Dragonball Mae: The Early Years

Frieza's Return

Several months passed since Beerus the Destroyer threatened Earth. During that time Pan was born, the daughter of Videl and Gohan. Mae had moved into Capsule Corp and began training on her own since both Vegeta and Goku went to train with Whis. When she had asked about joining them, Vegeta said she wasn't ready. This made her very irritable and so she pushed herself harder with her training.

There had been a day when Piccolo came to warn her about something brewing. He wasn't sure what but he told her about the negative energy he felt. She shrugged him off saying whatever it was she would deal with it when the time came.

One day as she came out of the gravity room, Bulma came running up to her. "Mae! Frieza is on his way to Earth! I already called Krillin and Gohan."

Mae laughed, "Frieza is dead, Trunks made sure of that remember?"

"He's been revived. I can't get a hold of Whis either. You are our best chance of holding Frieza off til Goku and Vegeta return." Bulma said seriously.

"Maybe this is what Piccolo meant six months ago." Mae rubbed her chin in thought. "I don't think we will need dad or Vegeta. I can handle Frieza on my own."

"He's bringing an army of 1000 soldiers." Bulma said crossing her arms. "My friend in the galactic patrol told me."

"Well knowing Frieza they probably won't be warriors of great strength. Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin should be able to take them out." Mae said tugging on her boots and pulling her wrist bands on. "Frieza is mine."

"Do you really think you can beat Frieza on your own?" Bulma asked as they walked through the hall.

"I've been a super saiyan for a long time. This should be nothing." Mae smirked confidently.

"Well I'll still try and get ahold of Whis." Bulma sighed. "We predict he will be landing just outside of North City."

"Thanks. I'll head over there now." Mae nodded before taking off into the air. She figured by now the others would be there.

Just before she arrived she saw a huge blast of energy coming from where North City used to be. She scowled, gritting her teeth. That bastard has destroyed the whole city. She pushed herself faster until she could see Frieza surrounded by his army. Gohan and Piccolo had just landed when she appeared next to them. Shortly after Tien arrived along with Krillin and Roshi.

"I didn't bring Chiaotzu or Yamcha," Tien said. "I don't think they would be much use here."

"I agree. I didn't tell Trunks or Goten about what's happening here either." Gohan added. "They would probably want to challenge Frieza directly."

"Speaking of, you guys take out the army. I'll deal with Frieza." Mae said glaring at Frieza who was sitting in his floating chair.

"Mae, we should wait for Goku." Piccolo said grabbing her shoulder.

She shook him off, "we have enough bad ass saiyan on our team already."

"So these are Earth's protectors," Frieza floated closer to them. "I want Goku."

"He's not here," Krillin said. There was fear in his voice.

"I remember you," Frieza grinned. "Seems the weak can be revived as well as the great. I will give you this one chance to tell me where Goku is."

"Screw you, Frieza. Why should we tell you anything?" Mae snapped, glaring at the evil emperor.

"You are Vegeta's half-breed pet are you not? Seems you still have that fiery attitude that you had back on Namek." Frieza tilted his head at her. "Shall I kill you along with the others?"
