YANA's POV
College.
The moment I stepped my foot in Emery University, I knew that my life will never be the same again. College is everything that I've ever dreamed of. Noon pa man, ginusto ko nang bumilis ang panahon para makapag-college na.
I'm already 19 years old, of legal age na yan but my parents has been the strictest parents there ever is,idagdag pa ang kapatid kong nagpapaka-gobernador-heneral sa pagiging strikto at sa mga pinsan kong feeling men in black kung makapag-bawal. But now, college na ako. I can do everything I want, I have the freedom to be myself because that's the deal.
"Get to college and earn your freedom." Those were my dad's exact words. I don't hate them because of that, though. I treasure my family too much to hate'em. Masyado ring mahalaga ang pamilya ko para suwayin, family is everything. Family comes first. Plus, alam ko namang para pa rin naman sa akin ang mga desisyon na ginagawa nila eh. They only do things for my own good and I love them for that.
Napatitig ako sa malaking poster sa harap ko ngayon. May mga standee pa sa labas ng bookstore na pinuntahan ko. Vacant ko kasi and I wanted to see the old book store just outside the university. Nadaanan kasi namin to ni kuya kanina kaso hindi ako nakahinto dahil maaga ang pasok ko tapos ayaw ko namang ma-late sa first day ng klase.
"Anong maitutulong ko, hija?" Napatingin ako sa babaeng nagsalita. She looks like she's in her late 20's or early 30's, either ways, she looks pretty. Mayroon siyang maikling itim na buhok at may bangs pa. It's cute, actually.
"May mga comics po kayo?" I asked while smiling. I'm not really into comic books, I just want to see how it looks like, may ka-klase kasi akong mahilig dun, he looked like he was really enjoying the book he was reading kaya gusto ko sanang i-check kung bakit...
"Meron, diretso ka lang jan." I nodded and then followed the direction she was pointing at. Nasa may gilid iyon ng book store, malapit lang sa cashier. Kumunot ang noo ko nang makita ko ang nakahilerang comic books sa harap ko. May mga nakalagay sa isang mesa, meron din sa mga cabinets. Ang dami naman nito. I flipped on the pages to see the comic, I was amazed when I saw pictures in it.. may pictures pala ang comics?
"Wow." I murmured under my breathe when I saw nice graphics. Ang kukulay din. I was immersed in flipping the pages when I notice someone standing in front of me. Napatingin ako sa kanya and saw him reading some comic book. Seryosong-seryoso siya sa binabasa niya kaya malaya akong napagmamasdan ang mukha niya. His eyebrows were thick but not too thick. Maputi siya, mukhang ash-brown ata ang kulay ng buhok niya at may suot pa siyang isang bilugan na salamin. His grey v-neck shirt compliments his white skin, he was wearing a faded blue jeans with a white converse shoes. He looks dashingly cool with his outfit and I can't help but to stare at him.
Ang gwapo niya.
I shrugged the thought off at nag-focus nalang sa pagsi-skim ng mga comic books, I'm enjoying it. Maganda rin naman kasi ang mga plots.
"Ate, pa-abot nun!" Napayuko ako nang may humila sa skirt na suot ko. I saw a kid, maybe 7 or 8 years old? Nakaturo siya sa isang cabinet na may mga comic books. Nagtataka man ay inabot ko sa kanya ang itinuro niyang libro which turned out to be Slam Dunk. Kuya Aire is crazy over Slam Dunk. Ang dami niyang collection ng slam dunk, kasing dami ng collection niya ng mga kumamon toy. He's really weird, ang astig niyang tingnan tapos napapataob siya ng isang kumamon toy.
"Thank you!" Magiliw na sabi ng bata kaya napangiti nalang ako. Ang sweet naman nun. Lumipat ako ng section. Wala akong nagustuhan sa mga comic books kaya nagtungo ako sa may mga DVDs. Siguro pwede na akonv mag-movie marathon, hihilahin ko nalang si Mara if wala si Kuya.
