Today, Blue says that they've finally found another human. They've finally found someone out there to give us their soul.

The only problem is that, in order to get their soul, we would have to kill them. I just wish we could do this without so much death. But it's the only way that us monsters will ever be free.

"Why does someone have to die in order for us to be free?" I grumbled, not wanting to resort to violence for much of anything.

Violence was pointless, it was cruel, it was evil, so why did we have to resort to it? Why did we have to fight back against them? Why couldn't they just let us roam free? What did we ever do that was so evil.

Blue sighed. "Well I don't really like killing much either, but it's for the greater good of monsters."

I shake my head. "I just don't understand this."

"It's magic." Blue replies. "The curse that was placed upon us was never meant to be understood. I highly doubt that even the human who cast it knew the full abilities of the curse. It was only meant to keep us here in the underground, and nothing more."

"I don't want to fight."

"You won't have to." Blue puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "The others will fight. I'll fight for you. It doesn't matter. We can survive this, and when it's all over, we'll be free."

"But wouldn't the human just hate us even more? For killing one of their own?" I ask.

Blue nods. "But with the power of the human souls we'll be unstoppable. The human souls will be able to do so much more than just break the barrier."

"It's still wrong." I try to reason. I weigh the options in my mind, and I know that although there's nothing I can do to change the leader of the monsters mind, I still kind of want to try.

"We still have to do it." Blue replies, now a more serious look on his face. "We're monsters, in their eyes. We'll always be monsters. None of this war or fighting will ever make any difference, because in the end, we'll still be nothing more than monsters to them." He sighs.

"I'm sorry." He says, grabbing my hand in his. "I'm sorry that things are the way they are. I'll make everything up to you when we escape. I promise."
