Eden PoV:
Jonah walks back with his hand in his hear
"Eden I have some bad news, but don't be afraid okay?"
"Okay..."
"Gio, he's found out where we are..."
Fear courses through me.
I whimper and my mate sighs
"I promise you'll be ok. Just stay away from him."
"He's my brother Jonah, you know that's not possible." I whimper and he frowns
"I don't want you hurt. It's hard enough keeping my wolf calm." He sighs
"I know Jonah, but I need to do this." I look at him and he nods
"Do me one thing? Just take a pregnancy test, if you are...we can't risk it okay?" He rubs my cheek and I smile
"Of course," I kiss him and dry off.
He walks to the office and I sit into the bathroom.
I'm too nervous.
If I'm pregnant...I won't be able to face my brother...
Unless of course I lie...
No. I need to find out for me too, plus Jonah deserves the truth.
I whimper and close my eyes
I can do this.
I look down and see the symbol which I just can't seem to read.
As far as I can tell, it's negative.
I breathe out. It's bittersweet really.
I walk out with my head low and whimper, I look at my mate and he cocks his head
"Negative." He guesses and I nod
"Look, Just don't get hurt. Plus we have ages to have pups," He says and I smile
"Right."
A bang. A huge bang.
A gun shot to be precise.
I look at Jonah and his veins are black.
"Eden, fair warning, I might not be able to hold my wolf back." He whispers and I nod
"Okay."
I squeeze his hand and he walk downstairs
Gio walks in and my heart aches.
He looks like my father, only I would notice, but he does.
"You're the bitch?" He growls at me and I nod
"If you mean sister, then yes." I say, suddenly with an inch of confidence.
"Don't test me you fuckers." He growls
"You are the mangy runt that my parents kept, and he's the reason I'm stuck living in a warehouse."
"What?" I cock my head and Jonah sighs, seemingly knowing
"Oh he hasn't said? This entitled fuck, killed a man and it was blamed on me! What did he do to fix it? Fuck all!" He growls and I look at Jonah, my mouth hanging wide open.
Jonah PoV:
So it's happened.
It's all caught up to me.
The look of horror on her face tells me everything.
She's not going to forgive me this time.
I look at Gio
"That's not true you bastard, I tried everything I could to get you out." I snarl and he rolls his eyes
"That's why I'm still in the run? Sure." He growls
Eden has tears in her eyes and dropped my hand ages ago.
"I don't even care about you, you piece of shit sister." He snaps at her and I growl
"Of course the moon goddess would pair you two, just to smite me." He says
"You killed a man?" Eden breathes
"Aww, did the little innocent mate not know? Shame..." he smirks
"Piss off Gio. Why are you even here?"
"To get even, to expose you for who you really are."
A girl walks in and jerks back, the gun in Gios hand clearly scaring her.
"Gio?" She squeaks and he spins around.
"Lucy? What the fuck are you doing here?"
"I-I- Nothing." She blubbers and steps back
They won't stop looking at each other, but I'm fixated on Eden.
"How could you?" She breathes
"How could you not tell me?" She sobs and I close my eyes
I breathe out when suddenly Lucy is grabbed by Gio.
He begins to talk her softly, I can't hear a thing.
"Eden, I was so young...I had no control...I didn't want to...I didn't mean to..."
It hurts to remember, Mark Skarmen, luckily my only victim.
I breathe out and my wolf is pushing so hard to get out.
I can't seem to calm down.
"How could you not tell me? And my brother! You didn't think to tell me when we found out?" She sniffs
"Eden-"
"Don't! We were going to start a family together Jonah!" She growls
"Gio what are you doing here?" Lucy asks
"Righting a wrong." He growls and she tightens her grip on him
"Don't."
"What? Are you-"
"Please don't. I can't see it again." She wheezes
"What do you mean it?" He asks
"You gonna shoot me or what!?" I roar and Eden looks at me wide eyed
"What?" She whispers
"What do I have to live for? My existence is only hurting people," I huff and she grabs my arm
"Tell me everything, I'm not leaving." She whimpers
"I don't wanna say." Lucy whispers back to him
"Then leave so I can do my job."
"You told me before, you were wrongly convicted of killing a guy...so why are you choosing to do it now?" She whimpers
"I'll be back one day you fuckers." Gio snarls and shoots the wall right next to me.
A sign.
A hole in our existence.
I look back at Eden and can feel her worry
"Who, What, when, where, why, and how?" She frowns and I look down
"Mark Skarmen. I killed him, I was around fifteen. It was in the forest, I was trying to calm my wolf when he walked by. I lost control. They took control and I don't know exactly how..." I sigh and she looks down
"You didn't tell me. Would you have?" She frowns
"One day. Maybe. Eden I have a hard time with my wolf. I don't remember things he does."
"We were going to start a family like that. Without me knowing you committed a major crime?" She whispers
"Were Going to?" My eyes widen
Has her mind been changed
"Are." She sighs and I smile
"You don't hate me? I'm a murderer." I wheeze and she frowns
"I'll move past it. Only if you truly bust your ass to clear his name." She says and I nod
"I can do that."
