Chapter 64: Lovely

I wake up and hear the door open
"Eden, Jonah's back." Zekil coos and Malik stays asleep
I don't even bother to lift my head up.
I mumble and he rubs my cheek
"Cmon sweetheart, wakey wakey."
Jonah walks over and sees Malik in his arms.
He squints at him and Zekil passes him Malik.
Jonah holds Malik tight as he continues to sleep.
"Sweetie, I know you're clearly exhausted but you need to go upstairs.
I whine and lift my head up. Zekil grips my hand and helps me up
Jonah growls and Zekil stares back at him.
"Fuck off Alpha." He says and I lean on Zekil's side.
We walk upstairs with Jonah behind us.
I yawn and Zekil lays me down
I close my eyes and see Jonah lay Malik down in his crib
"Get the fuck out." Jonah snaps and Zekil grunts
"I don't get what she sees in you." Zekil rolls his eyes
"Stop it." I whine and Jonah glares at Zekil
"Thank you Zekil." I mumble and he smiles
"Of course. Now I will leave."
"Forever?" I whimper and he shakes his head
"Of course not." He smiles and just as Jonah opens his mouth, he disappears
"That motherfucker!" Jonah snaps
"Shh. Malik is sleeping. Give it a rest," I huff and he bites his lip
"I'm gonna take a walk." He breathes

I hear Malik crying so I climb out of bed.
"Oh baby, go back to sleep." I coo
After an hour he finally goes down
Where's my mate got to?
I see him walk in and he jumps
"Shit." He breathes and I hug him
"I missed you." I whine and he kisses my head
"I need to calm down."
"Oh?"
"Yeah my wolf came out and didn't want you two to get hurt."He muses and I frown
"What upset you so badly?" I frown and he just gives me a look before slipping into bed
"Jonah..." I frown
"Leave it Eden." He grumbles, laying down.
"Please? Mate?"
"Zekil bothered me. I got jealous okay?"
"Oh." I breathe
"That's all you have to say? Oh? You aren't going to reassure me?"
"He's a nice guy Jonah, but he isn't you. Plus he isn't my mate, and isn't the father of my child." I frown
"But?"
"No but." I say and he pulls me into bed.
"You know I love you Jonah." I purr and he smiles
"Only me right?" He frowns and I chuckle
"You and Malik." I smile and he grins
"Of course."
I yawn and he rubs my cheek
"Jonah, I love you. So much." I remind him and he chuckles
"I love you too."

I wake up and see Jonah holding Malik tight.
"Oh! Eden, you're awake." He smiles and I yawn
"Sorry, did I oversleep?"
"It's eleven, I figured I'd let you sleep in. You need to rest." He shrugs and Malik lets out a giggle
I look at him and gawk
"He laughed!" I grin and Jonah gawks
"He did!" I beam
"I thought I'd miss it..." He breathes and I jump up
"You didn't though!" I say and he frowns
"Cmon Eden, we both know I'm going to miss a lot. I work too much to be able to be there all the time."
"I know but that's okay, everyone misses something. Plus you'll always have next time." I smile
"Next time?" He breathes and I tense up, taking Malik in my arms
"Well yeah." I blush and he smiles
"You want to have another baby?"
"A little further down the line but yes, I would. Why, do you not?" I frown
"Of course I do!" He grins and I smile
"Thank Goddess, but I don't think I'm ready for that again. Plus we don't know how long it may take, you know how lucky we are to have Malik."
"Just know, I will love you no matter how many kids we may have." He muses and I smile
"I know." I purr
He rubs Malik's cheek and grins
"Thank you." He says and I cock my head
"What for?"
"I'm not sure, I'm just so grateful I have you. That we have a child together, that we are happy." He smiles and I kiss Malik's head
"I'm happy too, and I'm glad Malik's illness hasn't put you off having another child." I say and he grins
"Of course not, I can't wait to have another child with you." He smiles

Jonah disappeared again, something about a meeting. I'm getting tired of being left alone all the time but at least I have Malik. I pick him up as he cries and I rest my hand on his head. Oh goddess he's burning up.
"Zekil!" I Call and he suddenly shows up in the room.
"You called?" He smiles and I whimper
"The fever came b-back and I d-don't know what I'm d-doing." I panic and he shushes me
"Don't fret, I'm here. Let me hold him again." He smiles and I slowly pass the boy to him. He cradles Malik and I look away, too scared to face it. When I finally look back there's a faint blue glow around Zekil's hand but Malik has stopped crying.
"That's a persistent cold he's got, poor guy." He rubs his back and lays him down.
"If you don't mind me prying, you seem a bit upset Eden." He says and I sigh
"I am a little Yeah."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"Let's go downstairs, Malik needs his sleep anyway." I say and he nods
We flop down on the couch and I sniffle.
"It's Jonah...we're having a bit of a rough patch." I whimper and he frowns
"Well that's bound to happen, you just gave birth and a baby is a big responsibility!" He reassures and I shake my head
"He keeps leaving, going to work for ages and coming back exhausted. He never has time for me anymore." I whimper and he frowns
"I'm sorry Eden, that sounds terrible."
"What do you do all day Zekil?" I ask and his eyes widen
"A lot of things, mostly spiritual. But nothing that would interest you."
"Do you ever wish you could time travel, so you could meet your mate?" I smile and he chuckles
"Yes, Of course, but I also get the sense I'm needed here." He muses and I nod
"I think you are too." I smile and we lock eyes. I feel weird...what is this?
Zekil suddenly lurches forward and captures my lips in his my eyes fly open.
